An unusual wooden observation tower, erected around 1910 and
removed in 1978, gave the hilltop
setting
its name. You can see Mt. Washington, in New Hampshire, 90 miles to the west - a stunning
sight against a brilliant sunset. The house itself will interest you. The older portion
was built in the late eighteenth century with many additions over the years.
Your hosts are Bill and Susan Whiteside. Bill is a retired professor at nearby Bowdoin College and Susan is an active businesswoman. Both anxiously welcome old friends as well as new ones and pledge their best efforts to make you feel at home.
Tower Hill
is located on beautiful Orr's Island just offshore from Brunswick, Maine. Enjoy the quiet
ambiance of Maine island life with the convenience of a bridge to the mainland. Nearby
restaurants offer delicious lobster and other seafood offerings as fresh as can be found
anywhere in the world.

museums, musical and theatrical offerings and points of interest from Portland to
Rockport. If you prefer nature walks, follow our path to the shore of Harpswell Sound.
Skip stones, wade or swim, gather shells, watch lobster boats and often, on weekends, a
sailboat race. For a change, take the easterly path, down the hill. through a spruce
forest, to the marsh where a great blue heron likes to watch patiently for his next meal.
