Wrap & Snack Christmas Shoe Box Community Gathering; Thursday, Nov. 19 at 3 pm at St. Matthew’s Church   St. Matthew’s Women will host the event, and provide snacks and wrapping materials for Brownies, Girl Scouts, and Rainbow Girls  to wrap their Christmas Shoe Box outreach project for Samaritan’s Purse.  

Sat., Nov 21 – 7:30 am Men’s Breakfast.  All men welcome!

Sat. Nov. 21  - 8 am Women’s Breakfast and Advent Wreath making project, at parishioners home in Lisbon Falls.   St. Matthew’s Women and their friends can enjoy breakfast and then make an Advent Wreath to take home.  Child care will be provided and there will be a suggested donation for the cost of greens, candles, and decorations.  A teaching will be given on Advent Wreaths and their use in the church. 

Sat., Nov 21  – 5:30 pm – Fellowship Room -  Pizza & Movie Night featuring the movie “CLANCY”

Sun. Nov. 22  - Annual Meeting Sunday!  One service at 9 am followed by a brief coffee time and our annual meeting.  NO 7 PM SERVICE AT ST. MATTHEWS.

Sun. Nov. 22  - Join the local Lisbon Area Christian outreach churches at the annual L.A.C.O. Ecumenical Service,  6 pm at Shiloh Church in Durham.  Non-perishable food and/or cash donations welcome during offering.  Refreshments to follow.

Thurs., Nov 26 – Thanksgiving Day Service at 10:00 am followed by the very popular pot-luck Thanksgiving luncheon.

Tues, Dec 1 – “Beau Talks”   6:00 pm – 7:00 pm.  Join Fr. Beau in the library and bring your questions about church life, faith, etc.

Start the Season with the Reason  On Saturday, Dec. 5 at 9:30 am join the women of St. Matthew’s as we explore Mary’s response to the angel Gabriel.  After accepting her role as the mother of Jesus, Mary sang the beautiful Magnificat (Luke 1:46-55).  Kim Hanscom will talk about Mary and other women in Scripture who said “yes” to God.  Then it’s your turn to reflect.  Carol and Jeannie will lead us in song.  We end with lunch at 11:30 am and there will be free child care.  Why not bring a friend?  Sign up today in the church lobby or e-mail Deb Wagner at debwagner@gwi.net

Fri, Dec. 25 – Christmas Day Eucharist at 10:00 am.    Followed by a Christmas Day Potluck Luncheon at 12 noon.   Join us for this very popular luncheon – do not be alone on Christmas Day!

Weds., Dec 30 - Monthly Order of St. Luke meeting at 6:00 pm in the library

Thurs., Dec 31  - St. Matthew's New Year's Eve Pot Luck Supper and game night.   An event for the entire family.   Great food and games for all ages.  Will end the evening (well before midnight) with evening prayer.
