St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church

The Rev. W. Beau Wagner

Wed. March 18th at 7 pm. - Lent Taizé Service with Grace.  Open to the community.  Join us for a reflective time of worship.

Join us for a free Women’s Lent Seminar, The Glory of Suffering, presented by Kati King on Saturday, March 28 (the Saturday before Holy Week/Easter) from 9:30 am until noon (followed by lunch).  Jesus was called the man of sorrows, yet his accomplishment was the most glorious and important in all of history. Peter avoided suffering to the point of denying Christ, yet he went on to die upside down on a cross for his sake. Suffering is mysteriously powerful, leaving even the most God-fearing people wondering if God’s love even exists. Yet scripture teaches it’s both necessary and glorifying, as first exemplified in Christ, who was glorified on the cross as a sufferer.

Kati King is the Young Life Sebago Area Director, overseeing ministry in Gorham and Windham. Young Life is an international Christian outreach to high school students.  Open to women in the community.
