St. Ann's Mission Statement

We are a community of the Episcopal Church rooted in Jesus Christ, called and empowered by God to reach out in love to each other and to our neighbors.

Goals of St. Ann's Vestry

To educate and nurture the spiritual growth of all God's children in Christian faith.

To promote growth by increasing St. Ann's visibility in the community.

To identify the needs of St. Ann's and its surrounding communities, and to support members in offering service within the parish and beyond.

To support and nurture the children and youth of our community.

Who We Are

St. Ann's is the only Episcopal Church in a wide geographical area, drawing members from at least 14 communities. In our 2005 Parochial Report, we had 253 communicants. Our Church family enjoys a rich mixture of people, who accept, support, and learn from each other. Our diversity includes all ages, many types of households and families, varying economic and educational backgrounds, and different faith traditions.

Many of us wear several hats at St. Ann's. We are Sunday School teachers, lectors, chalice bearers, newsletter editor, adult discussion group leaders, vestry members, soup kitchen volunteers, cleaners and mowers, youth group leaders, office volunteers -- the list goes on and on.

At St. Ann's, we minister to one another in ways both formal and informal. The Pastoral Care Committee provides support for the priest's ministry to members in need, through telephone calls, visits, and cards. The Prayer Chain is a group which prays daily for the needs of others.

Often in our history, we have had interim periods where the efforts and faithful contributions of lay people were crucial. In these times, many of us have discovered our giftedness and the importance of being there for one another. We want to continue to be a very active part of God's work. The Rev. Timothy Higgins, our full-time rector, supports the ongoing growth in faith and service of our many lay ministers.
