About St. Aidan's

More than 40 years ago, The Rev. Moorehouse L. Johnson because the very first vicar of St. Aidan's. At that time, the nascent congregation met in Gardners Funeral Home. If you look closely at some of the folding metal chairs downstairs you'll see remnants of those early days. In July of 1960, the congregation moved to the Grange Hall on the corner of Elm Street and gradually worked its way up the hill to our present location in 1965.

Skethes of that building, (which was torn down to make room for the present structure) are in the foyer. The present church was consecrated in 1985, our bell blessed in November of 1998, and flowering blessings continue all around us to this day as you can see by walking around the church.

Today our congregation reflects the diversity of Washington County. People come from as far away as Prospect Harbor to the west and Dennysville and Lubec to the east. Our church school is growing and is in session from October until the end of May each year. Child care is provided during the 9 a.m. service and everyone is welcome to receive communion.

We hope you will take the opportunity to visit with us after the service. There is always something delicious to eat and drink and there is alway good conversation.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to speak with any member of the congregation. We are all very informal and approachable.
