So, you want some information on dermatology, huh? Well, this is the site! This section of the page is based on what a dermatologist is and does. Also, if you're planning on becoming one as a career choice or you're just interested, there are job descriptions on it, and what kind of education you might need for it. But before we jump into it, first of all...

What is Dermatology?

Opinion:

Personally, I thought dermatology involved skin analysis and research of the skin. The first thing that comes to mind when you hear "dermatology" is skin, right? When I go to see a dermatologist, the problem is usually about skin... so that's what I thought. Now I know there is more to that than just skin, it involves other parts of the anatomy, and a dermatologist does more than just examine your skin and give you medicine.

Definition:

Dermatology involves the study of skin, hair, mucous membranes, nails and related tissues or structures. A dermatologist may also perform cosmetic services, such as scar removal or hair transplants. (See, it's not all about the skin!)
