Spending the Day as a Surgeon
    I recently spent the day with a wonderful surgeon to see what his day is like on regular basis.  What I found was something very different than I bargained for.
    Being a General Surgeon takes a lot of compassion and understanding towards the patients being operated on. General Surgery
A surgeon is required to care even if they don't at the moment.  I saw and heard things that dumbfounded me.  We started with a minor surgery and moved to two major surgeries.  The sight of slicing human flesh amazes me.  That we are so advanced to fix people with what seems so barbaric on the outside looking in.  The ability to open and close a human is something that I want to stick my hands in (no pun intended), to discover hands on.  I definitely plan to in the future.
    I totally encourage anyone unsure about what they want to become to spend a day with someone, see what it's like; it could change your mind and your life.
