        There are many different opportunities for job shadowing in the area of genetic engineering.  Keep in mind all of the different aspects of genetic engineering and there are many places to start.
        One possibility is contacting a local research facility.  Ask for a tour and an explanation of what kind of work the people employed there do.  The people there will be very knowledgeable and are sure to answer any questions you may have about what  the job entails.
        Another place to look into is a nearby college or university.  Many colleges research in areas such as agriculture and would be willing to answer questions and show what the job is like.
        Since this is a fast growing field there are many places to go to for help.  The opportunities are right around the corner and if interested, try your best to find a place that interests you.  There are people willing to help you.  You can even talk to a guidance counselor, teacher, or career counselor at your school.
