Education

G.K.

When I first thought about doing occupational therapy, I thought  yes, not that much schooling.  I looked info. up on the internet to find out for sure.  The reason I know this is because my sister is majoring in occupational therapy at UNH.  After I started looking up info. I realized that is not really anything I wanted to do.  But, for all of those who think they do want to do this here is the schooling you will need.

A bachelor's degree.  This is the minimal requirement for entry into this field.  To obtain a license, applicant must graduate from an accredited educational program, and pass a national certification examination given by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.

Three things are necessary for this job.  They are:
Reasoning  (high, level 5)  You have to be able to understand your patients and adapt to your social and work environments.
Mathematical(medium, level 4)  Don't worry, you only need simple math skills.  Good thing they are simple because if you are anything like me you stink at math.
Language  (high, level 5)  You have to be a good speaker and writer because financial reports and legal documents are going to be a big part of your life.  Ughhhh!!!!
