PEDIATRIC CARDIOLOGY

    Welcome to my site! This is a project for our AP Biology at Sanford High School in Sanford, Maine.  My web page is a student's view of pediatric cardiology and all of the schooling needed, content of the job, and my description of the job shadow that I've done in this field.  For anyone interested in a student's point of view, this is it.

    Pediatricians give medical care to children from birth through adolescence.  This includes vaccinations, treatment of illnesses and injuries, and other types of general care for all of the problems parents encounter as the child grows up.  Cardiologists concentrate on diseases and functions of the heart.  There are also other types of careers within the cardiovascular field.

    Pediatric Cardiologists therefore are involved in the care of the pediatric heart and all of the treatments and preventative measures that need to be taken.
