Lady was a beautiful girl, with a sweet, loving temperament. She was descended from the first pure bred Siberian I ever owned, Lady Rhiannon. Lady is the mother of two of my other Siberians, Riggleman's Bandit Prince (Bandit), and Riggleman's Lady Sasha (Sasha).
Lady had surgery for cancer two years ago, which took alot out of her. She seemed to age quickly after that. When it became apparent that the cancer had returned, I made the decision, based on her condition and her age, that I would not have the surgery done on her again. I wanted her to live out her life as happily as possible, and I decided that if she got to the point where she seemed to have no enjoyment of life anymore, or seemed to be in pain, then I would see about the next step.
Lady had almost two years before she began to fail again.
On February 10, 2000, my son and I took Lady to the vet and stayed with her as she was put to sleep. Part of my heart went with her.
The photo at the top of the page was taken when she was 10, just before she had her surgery.
