PAST WORKSHOPS

World Reflexology Week  -  September 21 - 27

Members of the Maine Council of Reflexologists made substantial contributions to their communities by participating in the following events during World Reflexology Week

Susan Moulton participated in the "Mature Lifestyles Expo for Seniors held" at the Augusta Civic Center. Her booth provided complementary hand reflexology to approximately 60 Expo participants over a two day period.

A very special group of four MCR members provided reflexology to family members of people with cancer. This was the 10th year of "Camp Ray of Hope", held in Winthrop, Maine. Participants were: Barb Mangin, Emily Cyr, Micheal MacDonald, and Juliet Taubner.

Thirteen members of the MCR volunteered to staff a booth at the "Common Ground Fair" in Unity, ME. The fair is a celebration of rural living and draws a large crowd from throughout New England. Volunteers were able to provide reflexology mini sessions to a steady stream of people over a three day period. We estimate that we touched about 120 pairs of soles. The volunteers were: Myra Achorn, Sylvia Young,  Susan Miller,  Donna Bean, Chrissy Ravelli-Studer, Elisabeth Wolfe, Helen Ray,  Ken Hatch, Wendy Decker, Tamara Soper, June Atherton, Micheal MacDonald, and Juliet Taubner.

Other Member News

'Mac' MacDonald recently participated in the annual "Health & Safety Fair" at the Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor. Wrote a  Lab Committe member: " There is no question your exhibit was one of the more popular at our fair. More importantly, I hope our employees experienced how reflexology therapy induces relaxation and contributes to better health."
