Quick and Easy Way to Find NGS Control Points any
where in the USA |
With the Geodetic Control
Locator™ you can visualize all the
Horizontal & Vertical NGS control points in the entire USA and then review any
information about that point. You save save time by selecting just the control
point(s) you need for your project. Since you can see all the
points in an area, you will not miss another point again! Download points and
print a quick background map with the points to take into the field or use in a report, or
a project mission plan. With the export feature, save time, money, and improve accuracy
entering point(s), identifiers and coordinates. Never manually enter your project control

Select Points
Many Different Ways to Find and Select the Control
Points You Need |
Select and Locate any point(s)
by: NGS Class Type, USGS Quad Name, GNIS Place Name, Radius or Box, NGS Identifiers (PID,
Station Name), Latitude/Longitude, UTM Coordinates, or by combinations of these criteria.
Points are color coded based upon the selection criteria and class. The NGS point ID can
be toggled on or off. Selected points are highlighted in yellow and the points not
selected are still visible for future reference and/or inclusion into your project. back to the top |
Export Control
Export Control Points into any Application |
Export your selected control
points to your application be it GPS, AutoCad, ArcInfo, MapInfo, and many others capable
of importing an ASCII delimited file. This feature saves considerable data entry time and
insures control point accuracy. You not longer have to worry about getting control points

USA Map, USGS Quad Name, and Highways |
A background map is displayed
along with the control points. The map includes county and state boundaries as well as
major US highways. Lat/Long or UTM Coordinate grids and 7 1/2 minute USGS Quad boundaries

Custom Project Reports

As you select or deselect points,
a report is continually maintained. Multiple project reports can be named and saved. While
there is a default report format, it can be easily customized and organized according to
individual needs. Points can be sorted for ease of use and export. The sort order is

NGS data |
The NGS delivers control point
data for the entire US on 10 CDROMS consisting of 5 Regions and 2 CDs per region.
Currently they charge $250 for this data set. The Geodetic Control Locator and the

Control Locator graphically displays control points you selected to use for GPS mission
planning and surveying projects. You may wish to position control points on aerial photos,
raster maps and imagery. Control points can be selected and exported for use in
