Hit Dice Value Modifiers

We use the following charts in lieu of the single table given in the DMG. Some of these modifiers were first suggested for the 1st Edition system by Len Lakofka in an ancient Leomund's Tiny Hut. Rather than a single group of suggestions, we've broken the modifiers down into categories and magnitude:


Offensive Abilities Bonus
Attack multiple opponents in the same round +1
Blood drain +1
Bonus to damage due to exceptional strength +1
Breath weapon +2
Causes disease +1
Continuous damage +1
Drowning or suffocation +2
Energy drain +3
Greater than normal hit points +1
Paralysis +2

Single attack causing 20+ points of damage/round +2
Two attacks causing 24+ points of damage/round +2
Three attacks causing 28+ points of damage/round +2
