As with the rest of my stories to date for 1999, this one is interconnected with the rest to some extent.
Return to Moxie's Stories homepage.
(nosetwitch...blink...blink) Cathy stirred, drifted towards consciousness long enough to realize someone was holding her paw, but drifted back into the sanctuary of darkness.
Sugartail caressed Cathy's paw as she laid on the medical bed. "Come on, Cathy, snap out of it..." Cathy didn't stir again. (sighfluff) Sugartail set her paw back on the bed and glanced at the IV drip momentarily.
"It would be easiest to bring her to our side now, while she is in this state, Councilor."
Sugartail whipped around and (glarefluffed) at Torbiquewarren's mentat. "Haven't I told you enough times yet?" (furiousfluff) "Unless you can guarantee no memory loss, forget it. She's survived this long, we will just have to wait for Frith to send her back among us. If I had had a clue that she was allergic to the tranquilizer those park buns were using, you think I'd have led her straight to the clearing?" (sighfluff) She got up from her sitting position next to Cathy's bed and hopped towards the door. "You know the drill."
"Yes, councilor, notify you as soon as she so much as twitches in her sleep." The mentat watched Sugartail leave. "What a waste of time. One little needle full and..." she left her softly spoken statement to nobun left unfinished.
(nosetwitch...blink...blink) Bright lights. (achefluff) A headache of migraine proportions erupted as she stirred and fought to wake-up. When her vision cleared, the pain subsided somewhat, but she regretted leaving the comfort of darkness at what she saw. She was strapped in a medical bed with an IV drip next to her. The room smelled of the sterileness of a hospital or lab. (shudderfluff) Obviously, she was in a warren, but which one?
Just then, a doe she easily recognized, hopped in and over to her. She had a motherly concerned look in her eyes as she gazed over at her.
"You had me very worried, Cathy. When the rangerbuns tranquilized you, your body had an allergic reaction to the drug. I thought I was going to loose you. I didn't dare trust your care to some strangerbuns...you're in Torbiquewarren."
Cathy glared at her, tried to speak but found that her throat was to dry to do more then rasp. Sugartail quickly provided her a glass of water and held it there as she drank deeply, almost choking on the cool, crisp water. Sugartail continued to talk as Cathy drank.
"You've been in a coma for nearly a month, dear. It's near the end of May. I kept the warren mentat from doing anything to you while you were in that coma. I did allow her to perform necessary tests, however." (obviousfluff) "You didn't get impregnated by that buck..."
Cathy paused from her drinking to give Sugartail a grateful look.
"I made sure no drugs were slipped into your IV unit. Yes, it is my hope that you will join us someday, but on your terms, not ours. Our mentat wasn't too pleased with my decision...." she drifted off in thought a moment.
"Thank you," Cathy rasped.
"It will take you a few weeks of exercise to get back your strength. You'll have solid food this evening with no Spam or toes in sight."
Cathy simply nodded as she drifted back towards darkness, but that of normal sleep.
Cathy knew she was a prisoner, but she was treated almost like a guest. She could only leave the room she was assigned to in the company of Sugartail and two guards who kept enough distance behind them to not be intrusive. Sugartail had promised to let her leave as soon as her strength was back. She didn't really believe it, but played along as she didn't have any chance to even contemplate escaping in her current state.
One question kept coming back to Cathy's mind. If Sugartail wanted her to stay so badly, why hadn't she just had her brainwashed by the mentat when they had the chance to do it easily while she was in the coma? Only one potential answer came to mind. They wanted to know what she knew of Fudd operations. She was so caught-up in her thoughts that she didn't realize that Sugartail had asked her a question and she hadn't heard it.
"I'm sorry," (shakehead) "I was daydreaming, Sugartail."
(patientfluff) "I'd like you to meet one of our long-term guests, Cathy. I'm sure you know him." Sugartail led her into a nearby room and pointed to a monitor. On screen was a naked human male in a small room. He paced back and forth, never looking up at the camera. He had a single toe on his left foot.
Cathy hissed (furruffle) and (SNICK!) unsheathed her claws. Her fur rose in hackles on the back of her neck.
"I see you recognize Mr. Don Charette." Sugartail shut-off the monitor. "We've been in sort of a bind no thanks to your adopted father. According to the warren laws, once a symp is promised conversion, he must be converted, even if warren leadership changes in the meantime and the new leadership disagrees with the previously made promise.
"It is also in our laws that a symp may only be converted through being bitten by a carrier. We can not force any of our members to bite someone if they chose not to. Mr. Charette is not well liked around here as he is a reminder of Lapin's..." (pausefluff) "...idiotness. So we've been forced to keep him in a room as he consumes our resources and provides nothing in return. There is one exception to that law: the right of vengence over the murder of a family member."
Sugartail turned and faced Cathy eye-to-eye. "My sisters have authorized me to paw Don over to you to do with as you please if you wish it to be. Though you were a human then and are not currently a member of our warren, as a devilbunny, you still have the same vengeance rights as any warren member here would have over him for the murder of your parents."
Cathy opened her muzzle only to be shushed by Sugartail. "It's a tough decision to make, especially with your background. Give it some thought." She led Cathy back to her room.
So that was the angle Sugartail was aiming at to get her to slip over...Don Charette. They were willing to give him to her to do with as she pleased! But at what cost? Would she be unable to turn back after killing him with glee? Cathy wasn't sure.
Her adopted father had spared the symp's life thinking the buns would do worse to him then just kill him. He had been right. They had kept him alive and imprisoned with no hope of the conversion he had been promised nearly three years ago.
Cathy had made her decision for this situation long ago. She couldn't pass on the chance to avenge her parents no matter what Steve and the other Fudds had taught her. She didn't care as long as Don payed for those murders.
She typed-up on the terminal in her room her decision and request for materials and sent the message off to Sugartail. Cathy then cuddled-up on the pelt of the rapist from Grand Canyon in the sleeping hollow and dreamt of how she would punish Charette for what he had done to her parents and had attempted to do to her adopted sister's family.
(scratch, scratch)
"Enter." Cathy turned as the door to her room opened. She hissed and tensed when she saw who entered. "YOU! Julie and I had trusted you and this" she grabs her pelt "is what we got for trusting you." (STOMP!) "What do YOU want?!" (SNICK!)
The warren's mentat ignored Cathy's verbal barrage. She settled herself comfortable a few hops from the door and looked at Cathy. "I came here to offer you my help."
(sarcasticfluff) "The same kind of help you offered Major Blake?"
(negativefluff) "As Councilor Sugartail has probably told you, I performed some routine tests on you, particularly, blood tests, while you were in a coma. Some of the results were quite fascinating." (enthusiasticfluff) "First of all, you are a carrier, but not of the strain of bunnyvirus you were originally infected with..."
"A few times in my training, the Major accidentally bit me...and vice versa..."
"Yes, I'm sure, but I never got to examine his blood. The sample he left on my lab wall was too dried-up for me to use by the time I was recovered" (chagrinfluff) "enough to perform any tests. So, you are a carrier of what the Fudds call the 'Blake strain'?" (inquirefluff)
Cathy saw no point in disagreeing and simply nodded.
"Did you know it's an engineered strain...."
"Engineered? I had my suspicions. It's not normal for a victim of bunnyvirus infection to convert over a period of several hours and survive."
The mentat continued as if she hadn't been interrupted. "...and it's defective?"
(gigglefluff) "Of course it's 'defective' in your eyes, since the Major and I aren't pro-bun."
The mentat smiled mischievously. "No, I wasn't referring to that sort of defect. You simply weren't properly educated" (sadfluff) "when Frith gave you the gift of bunnyhood.
(howeverfluff) "I'm referring to the fact that the idiot who played around and created this version of bunvirus made a very, very stupid mistake. It nearly duplicates the DNA of the carrier or," (perhapsfluff) "the original designer...or so it has in my lab tests on tissue samples. It's amazing you survived infection...."
(disbelieffluff)
"You can refuse to believe me all you want, Ms. Blake, but you'll learn the truth for yourself soon enough. Councilor Sugartail has forwarded your request to me. That's why I came here to offer to correct the defect before you learn the truth the hard way. All it would take is a week of minor drug therapy...."
(STOMP!) "No! You're not coming near me with any of your 'drugs'!"
(resignfluff) "Very well." The mentat got up and left.
PIG-13 Alert! The following is extremely graphic and may be too much for some to handle.
"Are you sure you want to do this, Catherine. It's not like you."
(fangygrin) "Shows how much you know of me, Sugartail. Let me in there and leave us alone."
Sugartail nodded and stepped out of the way to the lab room that had been set-up. Inside the mentat checked over the preparations on a small table next to a gurney. Don Charette lay strapped to the gurney babbling about 'the long wait being nearly over'. The mentat explained the drugs in the syringes to Cathy and left, closing the door behind her.
In the hallway the mentat spoke quietly to Sugartail as they made their way to a nearby room where a video feed was set-up. "Do you think she'll eat his last toe?"
(doubtfulfluff) "But I have a very good idea what is going to happen to our symp 'guest'...." They settled into two overstuffed Laz-E-bun chairs and watched the monitor. Sugartail's two sisters joined them shortly afterwards.
In the lab, Cathy checked over the syringes one last time before turning to Don Charette and hopping up onto the gurney.
"Is it finally time yet?" (pleading eyes) "You don't know how long I've waited for this. I promise I'll be a good bun, honest! Please help me..." His pleading tone nearly made Cathy sick.
"Yes, it is time, Don." (howeverfluff) "The process will be very, very painful. Ready?" (fangygrin)
Don nodded and Cathy injected him with three different syringes filled with enough uppers to keep the dead awake. She then hopped down his body to his one remaining toe. (SNICK!) She quickly slashed it off and nimbly tossed it into a waiting cooler on the floor. She then suckled on the bleeding wound, nibbling and licking for several minutes. To his credit, Don didn't cry-out. Cathy savored the flavor of that blood in her mouth and wanted more and stared down at the toe in the cooler, but somehow resisted, settling for more of his blood and a little flesh. She had never tasted anything sweeter in her life.
"I feel funny...." Don commented and started to twitch as his body began to itch. "Is it starting already?"
Cathy hopped off his feet and back around towards his head where he could see her. "Yes, in a matter of hours you'll be a rabbit."
He looked at her with longing adoration in his eyes. "Thank you."
For one brief moment she felt terrible, but brushed it off. She pulled-up a chair, sat back and watched his conversion from her front row seat. Within an hour he was covered with a light coating of brown fur and started growing bunny ears up through his hair, which fell out soon afterwards.
His body began to contort and he shuddered in pain. Cathy quickly removed the restraints, she didn't want him to injure himself during the conversion process. So far the drugs the mentat had supplied her were doing their job. He was remaining awake during the conversion and experiencing the pain rather then sleeping through it as the Blake strain usually did to its victims.
Cathy watched on in fascination and with no regrets or remorse much to her surprise. She rationalized it as Don getting exactly what he deserved for murdering her parents.
Another hour passed and she got the munchies and hopped over to the snack tray she had arranged for at the far end of the room. As she munched on salad and carrot chips she could here his screams of pain. It sent shivers of excitement through her spine. She was revelling in his pain and enjoying it. *Was this what it was meant to be a devilbunny?* she wondered to herself. She brushed off the thought not caring as she enjoyed the moment, and hopped back to her chair.
"How are you doing, Don?"
Between gasps of pain he turned his head towards her. His whole head had changed to somewhere between human and bun as his eyes were now further apart and his muzzle was forming. His rabbit ears were fully formed and twitched towards her. His pelt began to thicken and his leg structure was changing towards that of bun. Claws had sprung from the ends of his fingertips as they had begun to change into paws. Claws also formed on his back feet/paws. The crinkle of bones cracking and reforming could be heard between his cries of pain. Somehow he was able to nod to her between spasms. Cathy was surprised by his bravery and endurance. How was he able to keep any sense of civility while experiencing this sort of pain? He didn't beg for any painkillers, but accepted the pain as payment for the 'gift' of conversion. She brushed-off any other thoughts, settled back in her chair and continued to watch.
PIG-13 Alert! The following is extremely graphic and may be too much for some to handle.
Five hours had passed since Cathy had bitten Don Charette. His body was shrinking rapidly now as he threw-up gouts of blood and body mass he would no longer need. The lab reeked of the mess, but somehow it didn't bother Cathy. She stared on thrilled by the conversion process.
Don looked quite bunny now, but his torso continued to contort as his organs rearranged themselves in proper bunny order. He looked over at her and winked, almost (learfluffing) around the pain. He closed his eyes and shuddered yelping in pain one last time and then collapsed on the gurney panting and finally drifted into a light sleep from exhaustion.
Cathy sat there for a long time wondering if it was over yet. She finally got up and transferred Don to a clean gurney and wheeled him over to the other end of the room away from the mess. She washed his pelt off as best she could, examining him closely for the first time. She hadn't noticed during the conversion or she had ignored it disbelieving it. She couldn't deny it now.
Don could possibly pass as a younger version of Steven Blake. She sat back on her haunches in disbelief. Had the mentat been telling her the truth? Or did the mentat slip something in the uppers cocktail, she had injected him with? Don stirred and opened his eyes.
(curiousfluff) "Did I sleep long? I feel so weak..."
Cathy couldn't believe her ears. He sounded like her adopted dad. (blink...blink, blink)
Don sat up. (woozyfluff) and plunked back down on the gurney. "Perhaps I need more rest..." (tummyrumble) "is it too soon for me to eat?" (licklipsaroundfangs) "Are you going to give me a new name or do I get to choose my own?"
Cathy hopped towards the cooler she had placed his toe in and brought it over. She couldn't stop now despite the shock she was experiencing. She had made her decision long ago on this.
"You could keep your old name if you want or choose a new one," she replied and pulled-out the toe and presented it to him. He stared at her in disbelief.
"I was told long ago that to be converted a carrier was to eat my last toe, but you saved it?" (disbeivefluff) "For me?" (humblefluff) "I didn't think I'd be worthy enough to have a toe so soon. I'm sure it'll be tasty," (gigglefluff) "Lapin seemed to enjoy my other toes..." he nibbled on it and his muzzle lit-up as he gulped the rest of it down quickly, keeping it in his mouth just long enough to enjoy the flavor. "Incredible." He smacked his muzzle in delight and turned to an offered salad and started eating voraciously.
Watching him accept bunnydom with such ease helped Cathy make up her mind.
"I never got to ask your name before you granted me conversion," he said between mouthfuls. "I want to thank you properly for I waited so long for this..." (nibble)
"My name is Catherine Duquette-Blake," she responded quietly. (SNICK!)
Don stopped eating and stared at her with a mouthful of salad. "No..."
"Yes," (fangygrin) "the daughter of the humans you murdered to get to this point. I hope you enjoyed your time as a bunny, Don..." she leaped at him, bowled him over and slashed-out with her hind claws. She quickly and smoothly reached down and ripped his pelt up and off him like a nightgown, much as she had done to the rapist a month before.
He cried briefly in pain and stared down at his bloody, furless body momentarily as his eyes began to glaze over. He looked up at her one last time too much in shock and too close to death to say anything more.
"Your death is much more merciful then you deserve. My parents died slowly and in panic trying to get out of our burning home before they were overcome by the smoke." She wiped a few tears from her eyes, turned and hopped towards the door. "I'm sure the Black Rabbit will show you to a comfy corner of Hell." She tossed his pelt on a table as he collapsed behind her.
Sugartail was at the door as Cathy opened it. (concernfluff) "Can I do anything for you, dear?"
Cathy paused a moment, regained her composure, then looked at her. "I'm going to my room to meditate and get some long needed rest. Do as you wish with the carcass but send the pelt to whoever you sent the other one to for cleaning and preserving. They did an excellent job with the last pelt."
Sugartail nodded, "As you wish."
After Catherine was out of sight, the warren mentat hopped past Sugartail and looked at the mess in the lab room and what remained of Don. "You couldn't have foretold what she would do in better detail, Councilor. Do you think she'll stay now?"
"Only time will tell, Mentat."
Meditation didn't help. Cathy had tasted of the forbidden and had truly savored it. Part of her wanted more. Sleep didn't come easily to her that evening as she tossed and turned in and out of dreams.
Many of her dreams focused around her adopted father shaking his head in disapproval and asking one question: "Why did you betray me?" She protested and pleaded back. She hadn't betrayed the Army of Fudd. She had simply avenged her murdered parents, but Steve turned his back on her and hopped away.
She awoke mentally exhausted, panting, and overheated. A shower helped to relax her somewhat. She meditated for half an hour and was able to get herself under control in time for Sugartail to arrive and escort her to the mess hall.
Cathy was surprised that there was no Spam or toes present this time in line in the mess hall. Every time she had been led here before there had been at least one dish with Spam or toes in it. Sugartail noticed her surprise.
"No Fudd or symp executions near the warren for the past few days," she said as they hopped with their breakfast to an empty table. "And we couldn't put Don on the menu, since you converted Don before executing him."
Cathy dug into her broccoli and cheese omelet greedily, Sugartail's comment not phasing her at all. Sugartail watched her a moment as she nibbled lightly on a carrot bagel.
"Plumflower and Berryblossom say there's no reason to hold you here any longer. You're free to go home anytime you like, Catherine." Cathy looked up in surprise. "I'm sorry our trip to the Grand Canyon hadn't worked out better. Maybe we can try again sometime."
"Perhaps, but I don't think I'm leaving immediately."
(surprisefluff) "Oh?"
"I have unfinished business to attend to with your mentat." Cathy got up and took care of her dirty dish before leaving. Sugartail's only reaction was a slight twitch of her left eartip.
Much to her surprise, Sugartail didn't stop her and no bun followed her in the warren's corridors as she made her way to the mentat's office and labs. Were they that confident that she would stay for good??? She scratched on the door and was admitted. The mentat didn't seem surprised to see her.
"I didn't doubt all of your statements before Don's execution. I simply didn't trust you...I still don't, but I want more details as to what you would have to do to correct the defect in the version of bunnyvirus I carry, in case I ever use it again."
This last bit did surprise the mentat a little. She told Cathy in complete detail what it would entail and how it would affect her. She used her best charm in assuring Cathy that she wouldn't change physically or mentally and her pelt would remain in it's current state unless she wanted it changed. Cathy did not want that. When the mentat had finished her explanation, Cathy held up her left forepaw and said very simple and quickly, "Proceed." before any second thoughts could sink in.
A Wynn fan club poster here, a plant there, and her burrow was beginning to look more personal. Cathy was two days into the drug therapy and the mentat had told the truth so far, for she didn't feel any different. The dreams had finally ceased and she felt good.
One of the few things she didn't like about the treatment was the battery of tests the mentat put her through every day before and after the injections. She really looked forward to the day soon when they would be over with.
Spam was on the menu that evening which Cathy passed-up on as usual. She did help herself to two bottles of Mango Snapple. For some reason the Snapple served in warrens was more potent then anything you could get at a human store. She enjoyed the feeling she got from the extra dose of cutons and giggled quietly to herself.
Cathy was still determined to go home when this was over with. However, there were things she couldn't do there that she could do here with ease. She could emote all she wanted, when she wanted. She didn't have to worry about setting off any cuton geometers or making any Fudds sick to their stomachs. At the same time she missed the drills and the training at home.
That evening she snuggled down on the two pelts that graced her sleeping hollow and watched the highlights film she requested of Don's conversion and execution. She enjoyed watching it the previous evening and again this evening. It sent shivers of thrills through her. She really, really enjoyed what she had done to Don and had no regrets, none, for what she had done.
Cathy paused the film and sat back on this last thought as it woke her like a bucket of ice water. WHAT WAS SHE DOING?!?! Blake had taught her that these thoughts were those of a normal devilbunny. They were dark, evil thoughts. She giggled a moment, sipping more Snapple and pushed the concern aside. "I shall just enjoy the comfort of this darkness while it lasts." (gigglewigglefluff) She unpaused the film and cranked-up the volume during one particular scream.
The mentat gave her the last injection and put her through a few tests. She nodded positively at the results.
"So that's all?" Cathy asked.
(negativefluff) "There will be one more test. But it won't be until tomorrow. We have to make sure the therapy worked properly."
(droopears)
(tsktskfluff) "Did you think I'd treat you for free, Catherine? There is a small fee which will be paid through that test tomorrow. You will infect a symp for us." Long pause. "You will not add that symp to the collection in your bedroom." (STOMP!) "Am I clear on that?"
Cathy bowed her head, nodded and was dismissed. Outside, two guards escorted her back to her room. She was a prisoner again. The door was locked behind her after she entered and she remained there, alone until dinner when Sugartail came for her.
"I'm so sorry, Catherine..."
Cathy (bunnyhugged) Sugartail. "It's not your fault. I had my chance to leave..."
"You will have it again after tomorrow..."
Cathy looked Sugartail in the eyes. Tears filled her own. "That's what I fear, Sugartail. I've reached a crossroad and don't wish to choose either direction. I don't think I can stay here, but I don't think I can go home either..."
Sugartail hugged and comforted her. "I'll be there when you need me, dear, one way or the other as I should have been all along..."
PIG-13 Alert! The following is extremely graphic and may be too much for some to handle.
Sugartail escorted Cathy the following day to the same chamber used for Don Charette. The mentat had made her wishes clear. Bite the symp and then she could leave the room if she wished. If she refused to bite the symp, she would be restrained and forced to comply. Cathy bowed her head and sent a prayer to Elmer asking his forgiveness and then looked up at the mentat and nodded.
Two of the mentat's assistants wheeled in a gurney. On the gurney was the symp, female, in her mid-20's. There was a happy look on her face. This made Cathy sick to her stomach, but it could be worse. They could be ordering her to convert an unwilling human.
Cathy hopped up onto the gurney and sat on the woman's chest. "Are you sure you want this? There's no turning back." *Please say no...please say no...*
The symp nodded yes. "I want to be a cute, cuddly bunny." Her voice was syrupy sweet and Cathy wondered how much brainwashing this symp had been through already.
Cathy hesitated a moment and then hopped down to the other end of the gurney. This symp was only missing two toes from her left foot. (SNICK!) Cathy slashed the other three from that foot off and into a waiting cooler as the symp cried-out in pain briefly. She then nipped the wounds and licked as she had done with Don until the bloodflow slowed.
Cathy shuddered a moment as she smacked her lips. She was enjoying the flavor too much. She moved to the other foot, determined to get this over with. Yet, she slowed down, removing one toe at a time and licked each wound until the flow of blood slowed. She began to shake all over like a cat subjected to catnip. She looked at the last toe and wiped saliva from her bloody muzzle. She hesitated for an instant. Cathy then bit off the last toe, chewing it slowly, savoring it. As she crunched on it she sighed in pure ecstasy. And then it was over as she swallowed. Suddenly feeling very sleepy, she cuddled-up in a nearby chair and quickly fell asleep. On the gurney, the symp was also asleep, beginning to grow a light pelt of fur.
"Catherine, honey..."
(stirfluff)
"CATHERINE!"
Cathy opened her eyes, blinked, rubbed them and blinked again in disbelief. "Mom, Dad?"
"Why did you disobey us? We had an agreement."
"But...but..." She looked up at them. They were much bigger then she remember them to be. She then looked down and saw that she was in her bun form. She had never been a rabbit in her dreams about her parents. Dreams that had come from time to time over the years as she still missed them sorely. She had always been the human girl she had been when they were alive. The dream usually came when she was under duress and they would provide comfort and advice. But not this time. Her parents were quite upset.
"Explain yourself, Catherine. Why?" her father demanded.
"He murdered you. By bun law I had the right to do as I did to him..."
"Bun law? You are our daughter", her mother cut in. "You were born human, Catherine. Have you forgotten that? We might have forgiven you for killing him as he is now paying for our murder. But you didn't stop with him.
"We had an agreement. We allowed you to stay behind rather then come home with us. In return you would allow the Blakes to adopt you as their daughter. You were to obey them as you did us..."
(STOMP!) "Mom! Dad! I'm grown-up now. I make my own decisions. Rabbits don't stay kits for very long. You said I had to become a bunny to stay and so I have."
There were tears in her mother's eyes. "We didn't want you to become one of them...why did you infect that woman?"
"You didn't say what kind of rabbit!" (STOMP!) "For one of the few times in my life, I'm actually enjoying myself..." (astonishedpausefluff) "I'm actually happy..."
"Listen to yourself, Catherine," her father replied. "You're enjoying being a monster. You aren't our daughter anymore." The spectors of Catherine's parents vanished in blinding light as gentle paws shook her awake. She blinked a few times and stared up into the warren's mentat's eyes.
(concernfluff) "You were slashing out in your sleep. It must have been a pretty bad dream..."
(wearysighfluf) "Something like that..."
"I don't know if you'd be interested or not, but Greyling, as she calls herself now, had no complications in her conversion. She's a healthy doe with a beautiful charcoal grey pelt."
"Then I guess your treatment worked," Cathy lowered her head.
"Greyling wants to give you a gift. I told Greyling that I didn't know how you would react but...she has requested that you receive two more of her toes if you would like as an offer of her gratitude."
Cathy still maintained enough discipline to not salivate. After an ackward pause, she looked up eye-to-eye at the mentat. "Have the warren's cook prepare them. I don't care how. Just prepare a recipe with them for me."
The mentat nodded. Cathy took her leave and headed for her burrow. She was definately staying for now. She just didn't know how she'd break the news of her betrayal to her father.
After Cathy left, the mentat chuckled quietly to herself. "Success."
