Scott's Want List of Scout Patches/Badges

So you have found something you like and are now wondering what I would be willing to trade? Slightly worn/previously sewn patches are fine by me as they will be added to my patch blankets.

On to the patches wanted list, which was Last Updated 30 April, 2008:

SPECIAL INTEREST

patch segment unknown
district I don't know what district this one is from. If you have info or other segments that match up with it, please contact me.
patch segment Crittenden
Camporee
1978 This one is from '78 from I guess Crittenden District, or at least that's where this camporee was held. Again, if you have info or other segments, I'd love to hear from you.
1982 Fall and 1983
Spring segments from Ojibwa District, Clinton Valley Council, Michigan Ojibwa District, Clinton Valley Council, Michigan. As you can see in the scan, I am missing the Winter '83 event patch.

OA Lodge Lakota 175 flap--Bluebook "S21"--"20 Years of Fellowship". I recently obtained the bottom piece "X1" to this two part patch in a blind trade. But the border is green on the bottom rather than yellow--maybe it's a fake? The bottom piece shows a campsite with the words "50 Years of Camp Napowan"

As you can see, I'm interested in multi-part patches--patches that fit together like a puzzle to form a larger image. My other primary interest is any patches with squirrels on them.

CSP's

I trade 1 for 1 on all Council Shoulder Strips, but I am not big into CSP trading. Please see my list of CSP's in my collection. If it's already there, I'm not interested. However, if you still want either a Pine Tree Council or Katahdin Area Council CSP, you can trade me 4 or more "junk" patches (activity patches such as camporee, klondike derbies, summer camp, etc.) For one of these two CSP's and ONLY for either of these two CSP's. Please see Other Scout Patches further below for more details about "junk" patches. If you are a scout or scouter outside the USA, I will trade 2 to 3 district/region badges for a CSP, see further below.

OA flaps

I trade 1 for 1 and ONLY 1 for 1 when I have them on hand. My lodge only has flaps available at their events, which many times conflict with other things I need to do--scout trips for example. Please see my OA flaps page to see what I have in my collection. If it's there, I most likely am not interested in it, UNLESS your lodge totem is a squirrel or chipmunk (see further below).

NOTE If your Lodge totem is a squirrel, I am very interested in trading. Current lodges as of this update include: Michigamea #110 (Calumet Council, IN--Squirrel--now have four versions, thanks!) Wisawanik #190 (Arbuckle Area Council, OK--red squirrel--I have received one!), and Thal-Loo-Zyo #457 (Tri-State Area Council, KY-OH-WV--chipmunk--got one!). Lodges that no longer exist due to mergers and changed totems include Wakpominee 48 (upstate NY, merged 1999)--Grey squirrel (I've obtained a couple!), now known as Haudenosaunee 19 with a turtle totem, Kamargo #294 (General Herkimer Council, NY--chipmunk), and Tsutsusid #309 (Leominster Council, MA, merged in the late 60's...now part of Nashua Valley, MA--chipmunk, I doubt I'll ever see one of these since they run around $100 on eBay--why trade with me when you can make lots of greenbacks there, huh?). That lodge is now known as Great Monadnock. If you know of any lodges past or present not on this list which have a squirrel for a totem, let me know.

Disclaimer: Or at least that's what the totems look like on the OA Flaps from these lodges that are in the displayed collection at the Lawerance L. Lee Scouting Museum in Manchester, NH.

Other Scout Patches

Scout event patches (camporees, klondikes, summer camp, aka 'junk patches') I will trade 1 for 1. I prefer patches with squirrels or other wildlife on them along with cartoon characters (except Garfield) and Native Americans. I am willing to conduct 'blind trades' sending you X number of patches in trade for the same amount up to 20 at a time. Please, no Popcorn, Scout Trees, Bowl-a-thon, or Apple Day patches/crests.

Merit Badges

I am always interested in merit badges from other countries and can make arrangements to trade a few recently discontinued merit badges for those.

Are you ready to trade? Then email me, but you had best be good at Morse Code to do it!

Out of country scouts and scouters, don't get disappointed. I will gladly make arrangements with you also. Just email me with what you are interested in and what you have to offer in return and we shall see what we can do. For example in the past, UK Scouters have offered three of their county/district badges in trade for one CSP so that the trade would be close to equal value. My CSP's cost me about $3.50 American apiece, so keep this in mind when trying to work-out a deal.

Yours in the Spirit of the trade,
Scott Bernier
