Note: Rather than a story, this information is provided for writer knowledge into the history behind Namakata Labs (NL) and those characters involved with NL. Characters not involved in the history will not know this information unless told so by a character involved with Namakata. In 1988, General LonGears placed an Omega Seal on the Namakata Files. Anybun attempting access to said files will be executed.

1972: Namakata Research Warren and Laboratories established under the direction of retired Colonel (Checkerboard) Rabbit with 30 technicalbuns, 10 milbuns and families in May. Originally founded to find a way to counter the then conceived menace of Maine Yankee, Maine's first nuclear power plant, the warren was located under Nahmakanta (Nesuntaburnt) Mountain on the western shore of Nahmakanta Lake located approximately 20 mile due west of the human town of Millinocket in the Maine Wilderness. Name soon after is shorten to Namakata Research Laboratories (Namakata Labs). NRL soon turns to medical research.
1973: December 28, a civilian doe, named Lorilop, is admitted to NRL for treatment. She admits to becoming pregnant by a Fudd named Jack Therrington. Jack who had resigned from the Army of Fudd soon after disappears while attempting to get to Maine to rendezvous with LoriLop.
1974: Facility now houses 50 techbuns, 20 milbuns and families. Rabbit begins recruiting squirrels. The Rabbit treats the recruited squirrels as equals from the very beginning. Research turns towards biology and genetics on top of medicine.; January 2, a Nibble Notice is issued for LoriLop by Captain LonGears of PAW, using a forged signature.; January 12, the Nibble Notice is carried-out by LoriLop's brother, Captain LonGears at Namakata Labs. This is the only known record of LonGears visiting this facility. On the night of the 12th, The Rabbit performed a post-mortem Cesarian on the late LoriLop and is able to save one of the four kits, a doe soon after named Lil'Beth. Lil'Beth weighed 6lbs 8oz at birth and appeared to be human. The Rabbit decided her best chance of survival would be to grow-up around humans and past Lil'Beth onto friends of the biological father, who rename her Amy Roth.; July, The Rabbit finally determines that the Nibble Notice on LoriLop had been forged, but doesn't bother bringing-up charges.
1977: Facility now populated by equal numbers of devilbunnies and squirrels, with 150 total personal and families.
1979: March--Aldin Busheytail is born around the 15th--only survivor of a litter of four.; May--Aldin's parents are murdered by poachers. Poachers are killed by the Spirit of the Wilderness. Rabbit adopts Aldin and takes him to Namakata Labs where a new form of nanite technology is used to enhance his intelligence. The nanites destroy themselves several months later, after genetically altering the host squirrel's DNA. The technique is soon after adapted by other facilities that use squirrels .Aldin is never told how his intelligence was enhanced. He only learns of this technique in 1995.; November--Aldin begins work as an intern in the laboratories.
1980: June--Namakata Labs makes a major break-through: a way to reduce the poisonous effects of normal Vanilla Extract in an infected devilbunny. Aldin excels rapidly in class and laboratory and chooses to specialize in genetics.
1981: May--Aldin starts work full time in laboratories. He also begins military training under LT "Butch" Greytail. Aldin and the bun soon become good friends.; August--New Gaia-friendly medical discoveries in the fields of antiseptics and pain-killers.
1982: May--Namakata Labs celebrates 10th Anniversary--no accidents reported over the ten year period.; August--Aldin becomes Ast. Head Scientist in the Genetics Laboratory. Namakata Labs receives laboratory results from other warrens about research on human-lapine virus (bunnyvirus) and research turns towards virology on top of medicine and genetics.; December--Aldin completes examinations required to qualify as a mentat.
1983--Squirrels now comprise 75% of the staff. Population peaks-out at 80 technical buns, 310 techsquirrels, 30 milbuns, 20 milsquirrels and families.: April--Aldin begins work on Operation Unlimited Toes experimenting on himself and a few other volunteer squirrels. No immediate results observed.; May--Namakata's chief Mentat (under The Rabbit), "Snowie" Shortpaw Mentat, dies. Rabbit sends in paperwork recommending Aldin Busheytail be promoted to Mentat. While awaiting approval, the Rabbit promotes Aldin to Head Scientist of all Labs and 2nd in Command overall of Namakata Labs, giving him the rank of Captain. Construction of Namakata's first small nuclear power plant begins.; November--After much debate, Bunnymentat grudgingly approves the title of mentat, despite the recipient not being a rabbit. Aldin, who was left in the dark about the whole deal, declines the title stating he doesn't need the title to show he can do good work, upsetting the Rabbit. Rabbit decides that nobun shall fill the Mentat's "shoes" if Aldin would not take the title.
1984: February--Rabbit falsely accused of treason and removed from command, retired Brigadier General FlopEar takes over command and attempts to change research focus towards biological warfare. He immediately orders work to concentrate on development of an airborne "Cuteness" virus. Private Bunderbolt begins his first assignment out of Bunny Boot Camp at Namakata. Two other new milbuns also report for duty, bringing Namakata's military force up to 33 milbuns and 20 milsquirrels.; March--Aldin reports success through computer models and minor testing of a possible "Cuteness" virus. FlopEar orders work to then adapt HLV to an airborne virus similar to the new "Cuteness" virus. Squirrels begin to disappear as FlopEar sends them without protective suits to the uranium mine established north of Namakata Labs. The milsquirrels are the first to go.; April and May--Aldin conducts a series of experiments which show that the alteration of the bunnyvirus would be unstable at best and at worst would mutate into a deadly virus that would kill human and bun, alike as predicted in earlier research by others. By the end of May, 30 squirrels have vanished.; April 30--The Rabbit is found guilty of being a Fudd spy at P.A.W. and is executed by *POP*ping. FlopEar watches the affair on closed-circuit tv but only informs his closest and most trusted buns of the event.; June
1st--Aldin presents his results to FlopEar. FlopEar doesn't like the results and orders Aldin to try again. Aldin questions FlopEar about the disappearance of squirrels at which FlopEar becomes furious and throws Aldin out of the office. Aldin begins coding all his back journal entries.

4th--Three "volunteers" are sent to the labs for experiments, two buns and a squirrel. Upon questioning by Aldin, they state they were ordered to the lab. Aldin dismisses them, and infuriated, confronts FlopEar. The results of the hour long yelling debate results in Aldin being removed from his position as Head Scientist and 2nd in Command and then sent to the mines. However, FlopEar forgets to strip Aldin of his rank. LT "Butch" Greytail, then third in command is promoted to LT COL and is placed second in command.

5th--FlopEar has a second fit when he discovers all work recorded in Aldin's Journal has been encrypted, except some "useless" junk on squirrel genetic alteration.

10th--Aldin gets fed-up with seeing his fellow squirrels die and starts planning a revolt.

17th--Whiskers, one of the mining squirrels, betrays his comrades by informing FlopEar of Aldin's plan.

19th--Aldin's Rebellion consisting of 10 squirrels. In the resulting hour long battle, 4 squirrels and 20 buns die. 3 squirrels escape to the forest. Aldin and two others surrender. Only 13 milbuns (5 injured) remain after the battle. Private Bunderbolt is declared a hero in quelling the rebellion. "Butch" GreyTail is one of the 20 casualties, killed by Aldin's paws. Aldin never fully forgives himself for taking the life of his best friend.

20th--Aldin put on public display as his tail is removed by Agent DoubleWiskers. He is then sent to the laboratories as a test subject. FlopEar orders the decoding of Aldin's files to begin immediately. Bunderbolt promoted to Corporal.

21st--Two of the three escapee squirrels are caught and executed. The third, Puffcheeks, is never found.

28th--Whiskers volunteers as a test subject in the laboratories. He is injected with an altered form of the bunnyvirus designed to affect squirrels. He does not survive, becoming the lab's first victim. His death is reported as accidental to P.A.W. and SFU.; July--Aldin continuous to be tortured. Enough of Aldin's research is decrypted so that genetic manipulation experiments can begin.

20th--The great "escape" experiment. A declawing serum is slipped into Aldin's dinner the previous evening. FlopEar makes a deal with Aldin. Aldin would be allowed a head start in the forest. If he could successfully escape, FlopEar would let him go. During his escape attempt, Aldin finds it difficult to leap from tree to tree without his tail. During one midleap, he is zapped with an experimental fear-ray, causing him to miss his landing perch and slamming into a tree trunk 120 feet above ground level. He clings out of extreme fear of falling to his death. His claws yank-out and he falls, screaming to what should have been his death. He miraculously survives (Thanks to those genetic experiments he conducted on himself.) and heals rapidly. It would take him over 10 years to get over his new fear of heights.; August:
10th--Human adolescent, Eugene Pomerleau is taken at night from his scout troop camping near Namakata Labs for experimentation. Aldin genetically altered into a human, using Eugene as the pattern. Eugene's memories are copied into Aldin's mind, however his soul is somehow also transferred. Aldin's true memories are suppressed, and much of his genetic knowledge is wiped. Aldin takes Eugene's place in his scout troop. The process used to change Aldin was never clearly recorded and never successfully duplicated.

11th--Eugene's soulless body dies and is spammed, with FlopEar feasting upon the human's toes. Aldin's "accidental" death is reported to P.A.W and SFU.

13th--Peaceful rebellion. All remaining squirrels walk-out of Namakata in disgust to how Aldin was treated. FlopEar, who's military force was still weak (still at 13 buns) has no choice but to let the 250 or so squirrels and families do as they please. This causes a major research set-back.; October--With the lab struggling, FlopEar swallows his pride and request more buns from P.A.W. and elsewhere to fill-in the labor holes left by the squirrels. FlopEar is reprimanded for his failure in controlling the squirrels. By December, Namakata is up to 100 techbuns, 40 milbuns and families. Namakata's first nuclear power plant goes on line.
1985: July--Enough of Aldin's journals are decoded to begin work on altering the bunnyvirus into an airborne virus.
1986: First tests on the airborne virus are unpromising as the virus only survives 6 minutes outside of a host body.
1987: May--Namakata Labs' 15th Anniversary passes without notice. Special agents Cottontail and Doublewiskers sent to hunt down Eugene Pomerleau to change batteries in a tracking device planted in his neck, but fail to catch him.; July--PAW requests Corporal Bunderbolt's transfer to PAW for officer training. Transfer is granted and Bunderbolt begins getting questioned at PAW. FlopEar begins planning the "destruction" of Namakata Labs.; September--First investigative team is sent to Namakata Labs from PAW. LonGears does not like their report and plans a second investigation for December.; December--2nd investigative team confirms 1st team's findings--many reports from Namakata Labs after March 1984 had been altered before being sent to PAW and SFU. All files from Namakata Labs are downloaded to PAW. A third investigation and hearing is set for April
1988: February--Colonel Jean-Paul Oullette, commander of Loring Air Force Base and secret commander of the Northern Maine Fudd Militia learns of a possible secret devilbunny base 20 miles west of Millinocket through information FlopEar has placed near the Fudd's operations.; March
12th--Devilbunny base is confirmed via recon military maneuvers.

13th--Col. Oullette orders a "training" mission to commence the following day in which two F4-E Phantoms fully loaded, would unload all their weapons upon Nahmakanta Mountain. The jets are sabotaged by Doublewiskers under the orders of FlopEar--he had also planted the original rumors about the lab.

14th--Two F4-E Phantom with their two crew each start mission only to end in a fireball when they crash into Nahmakanta Mountain. Seconds before impact, a computer "malfunction" arms all weapons. The impact and explosion causes Namakata Labs' power plant to explode. The combined explosion destroys Namakata Labs, with all devilbunnies assumed dead. FlopEar watches all this from the warren's new secret location on the other side of the lake from (old) Namakata Labs. Col. Oullette's son is one of the casualties.; April--Colonel Oullette reports the investigation into the jet-crash shows the crash was accidental, caused by faulty wiring in the cockpit of one plane, it clipped the other jet causing both to crash. US Air Force accepts explanation. LonGears' 'independent' investigative team finds the same conclusions. LonGears orders the files on Namakata Labs sealed and orders Bunderbolt not to reveal what he knows to anybun without the General's permission under penalty of death.
1992: Namakata's 20th anniversary goes unnoticed.
1994: January--first real progress on an airborne HLV is reported by lab techs to FlopEar.; August--FlopEar notes that Eugene still lives as he monitors transmissions on the Bunnynet™.; September--Infuriated over what Eugene/Aldin is saying on the net, FlopEar orders Agents Cottontail and Doublewiskers to apprehend Eugene/Aldin at all cost. FlopEar gives them an optical disc to give Iago if they should encounter him. The mission is a failure resulting in the destruction of Eugene's home, Cottontail's death and Doublewiskers being severely injured and transported to StillWarren (in October). Iago receives and reviews the optical disk. Doublewiskers never fully recovers from his injuries and passes-away in December.; October--the bunny symp, Joe Pleau, attempts to avenge the death of his son, one of the four crewmembers who perished crashing into Namakata Labs, by breaking into the Labs. He is captured and becomes the first (and only) successful test subject of the new airborne bunnyvirus. He takes up the name, Whitey, and becomes very loyal to FlopEar, becoming 2nd in Command.

Columbus Day Battle in Lubbock takes place. Before battle, Aldin uses his old research from Operation Unlimited Toes to save the life of Steve Blake, the pro-Fudd devilbunny. Aldin meets LT Greytail, son of Butch Greytail before the battle and warns him not to fight that day. Aldin confesses his sin to Butch's son. Greytail ignores his warnings and winds-up one of the few buns to survive the battle.; December--a small devilbunny force is sent-out by FlopEar to capture Eugene's brother, Chris, to use him for bait. The nearly botched job costs FlopEar two buns. Chris winds-up in a comma. Eugene's parents can't contact Eugene for he failed to pass on his new phone number after the Lubbock Battle incident in October.
1995: February--Chris comes out of his coma and is escorted to a "guest" room/holding cell and is given read-only privileges to the bunnynet. FlopEar attempts to make Chris his second air borne Bunny Virus victim only to discover that Chris is naturally immune to bunnyvirus.; March--In a banter session, Iago reveals to Aldin that FlopEar lives. Chris earns enough 'trust' from FlopEar to allow him to do much needed electronic repair work throughout Namakata. In reality, Chris begins sabotage jury-rigging of most electrical equipment.; May--Daphnie Mentat confirms on the 9th that Aldin had completed mentat training successfully and recognizes him as the only squirrel who can call himself mentat and tries to recruit him back to the bunny side. Aldin passes-up on the offer. Aldin with aid from the squirrels at University Circle (UCIRC) Warren, taps into the BunnyNet and confirms that FlopEar does indeed live. Aldin gives Teral Acorn a copy of the latest version of BunnyStumper Deluxe™ as a thank you and informs him not to reveal to anyone that he has it.; Late May--Aldin with aid from descendants of the squirrels who had worked at Namakata, 6 Fudds, and 6 members of the Micmac Indian Nation invade new Namakata. Heavy losses on both sides in the resulting skirmishes. Aldin is shot full of unknown drugs that change him back into a squirrel. He eventually encounters FlopEar, they battle and Aldin (Gene) *POPS* FlopEar before he too apparently dies. Before the labs explode, all files download to SFU Warren (BunnyMentat/Daphnie) and PAW. Chris learns he is the Moski of Micmac legends. Puffcheeks (the elder) also perishes in the encounter. FlopEar's plans to release the virus via terrorist bombing of the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta is stopped by bunny agents. The virus is stored at the bunnybacked CDC for later study. Aldin and Eugene do survive and receive separate bodies due to what they explain as 'divine intervention'.; June--Aldin and Gene meet with Iago at Will's Place to turn over body of FlopEar to the bun along with records proving FlopEar's guilt. Aldin also turns-in copies of all Namakata records to various Fudd bases.; Late fall--month unknown--Aldin rescues the female red squirrel, Sallie, from the Snake River in Idaho. They choose to be mates.
1996: February--Aldin, while at NoCO, examines some of the Namakata files. He discovers an encrypted file addressed to Amy Roth.; March--Aldin captured by PAW, where he is forced to heal General LonGears, and leaves the General with a little surprise in the form of a squirrel tail that only makes its self known on April 1st. Amy Roth views the file from Namakata and learns about her true past, including the murder of her mother and siblings by LonGears.; April--Amy Roth is reunited with her biological father, Jack Therington, and meets-up with Aldin. Aldin is nearly killed in battle, only to be saved by Amy, while his mate, Sallie, vanishes in the same battle. Aldin spends the rest of the summer and fall recovering from his injuries in the care of Amy's father. Amy and her brother Brandon head to NoCO; May--Negotiators for the Namakata Squirrels sell approximately 43,000 acres of wilderness to the State of Maine in and around Namakata Lake. The area is designated as Public Reserve Land (similar to Federal Bureau of Land Management land). The squirrels use some of the money to begin rebuilding Namakata Labs on their own, the rest is invested for future use.; August--Nearly one third of the descendants of the Namakata Squirrels perish in a rabies outbreak before aid from Maine Fudds arrives. Twenty of the squirrels in advance stages of Rabies opt for a suicide mission rather than euthanasia. They attack Down East Warren, Bangor, infecting over 40 buns with the fatal disease before they are killed. Eugene also provides the squirrels with a laptop upon discovery that Aldin sealed-up the main frame that had survived the partial destruction of the warren the previous summer. Namakata's Council of Elders decided to provided scouts on a rotating basis to Maine Fudd HQ.
1997: April--After much debate, Namakata's Council of Elders decides to provide aid to the Squirrels of Freehome (Miami, OH) who have just rescued BunnyHugger from the devilbunnies of nearby Miami Warren. They immediately provide them with an updated copy of BunnyStumper Deluxe™ and contemplate future aid.; May--Namakata's 25th Anniversary goes unnoticed, probably because none of the descendants of the original Namakata squirrels, currently residing there, know when the lab/warren was founded.; August--With much excitement, Aldin returns to Namakata Labs. Ash Puffcheeks offers the head councilor position to Aldin, but he refuses. Aldin begins training other squirrels in genetics research.; November--Squirrel Ronin arrives at Namakata to spend the winter. Master of the martial art of Bushy Do, Ronin sets-up a Do Jo to teach his art.; December--Ash starts to attempt to win Aldin's heart as she has yearned to do for two years.
1998: January--The Great Ice Storm of '98 causes much damage to the forest wilderness surrounding Namakata. All squirrels are forced to move into the old bunny warren for the rest of the winter. Aldin and Ash seal their vows as mates. The devilbunny, Mustard SnowPaw, is captured by Fudd forces and turned over to Aldin after interrogation. Mustard lost the tips of his ears, the last inch or so of his rearpaws and his tail to frostbite during the ice storm.; February--Ash announces she's pregnant. Soon after, many other female squirrels "get lucky" during mating season. Mustard becomes a hero after rescuing 10 squirrels from an ice flow involving great risk to his own life. As reward, the Council of Elders offer to let him go free in the spring if he chooses. Before the rescue, Mustard is pestered by a squirrel doe, Mapletip, who insists on trying to win the bun as her mate.; March--Aldin's and Ash's first litter are born on March 2. The three kits are named Puffcheeks and Hazel in honor of Ash's parents and the third (a male) is named Cloud(chitter) upon suggestion from Sarah Martel in honor of John Clouddrifter who gave his life to help free Namakata back in 1995. After continuous pleading from Mapletip, Mustard gives into one request from her, allow her to give him backrubs. During the resulting weekly visits, Mustard gains useful information about Namakata. At the end of the month, Aldin performs his first live subject experiment with nanites, successfully regrowing Mustard's tail. Mustard readily volunteers for the next stage, his ears.; April
5th--Mustard undergoes the second nanite experiment to regrow his eartips. The night before the experiment, Mapletip sneaks into Mustard's room and injects him with squirrel hormones. The day of the experiment after he is injected with the nanites, these hormones push him over the edge and he gives chase after Mapletip and they mate in the woods before he collapses. The hormones confuse the nanites which start to convert him into a squirrel. The nanites are then stopped and destroyed part way through the process.

15th--Mapletip goes on trial for interference in an experiment, endangering another's life, forced conversion against one's will, and rape. Mustard asks the charges that were committed against him be dropped as he pledges to become Mapletip's mate. The Council of Elders after debate agree and sentence Mapletip 100 hours of community work for interference in an experiment.; May Financial agents purchase Maine's Oakhurst Dairy, the state's largest milk producer, on behalf of the Namakata squirrels. The squirrels keep Oakie, the dairy's cute talking acorn mascot.; September Aldin discovers that Teral Acorn has been living at Namakata for at least the past year under the name of Pinebrush. He chooses not to confront Teral and let the squirrel come to him when he's ready to tell his story. It is discovered that Mustard is still converting very slowly and the conversion has passed beyond the point of no return.; November Mustard completes his conversion just before Thanksgiving. He keeps his snowshoe hare pelt coloration and is a little large for a squirrel at 15 inches in length (not counting tail) and a mass of 1 lb 4 onces. Aldin starts trying to recruit a new henchbunny.
1999: March Aldin, now 20--OLD for a squirrel, semi-retires quietly, turning over the majority of laboratory operations to his son, Cloud(chitter) and Mustard Snowpaw; May Puffcheeks (the younger) is assigned as the commander of the new Deering Outpost, Deering Oaks Park, Portland. He sets-up his headquarters in the nearby Oakhurst Dairy plant. The squirrels make friends with students at the Portland campus of the University of Southern Maine (USM). Their likeness appears on recycling signs throughout the campus.; June Devilbunny forces attempt to infiltrate USM but meet heavy resistance from Puffcheek's forces. The buns are soon ordered to withdraw from the area.; October Devilbunnies stage a massive pre-dawn attack against the Maine Fudds. Only a handful of Fudds escape. All squirrel scouts at the base perish, including two of Ronin's star pupils. Puffcheeks offers refuge to the surviving Fudds. Major Blake suffers a massive heart attack while announcing to the world what has happened. His condition is stabilized at a local veterinary clinic before he is transferred to Namakata for more personal care.; November Mapletip, mate of Mustard Snowpaw, becomes pregnant.; December Agent Catherine Blake, presumed dead by the Army of Fudd, leaves Torbique Warren to find devilbunnies have established an outpost at the former Maine Fudd HQ. Cathy wipes-out the warren except for one regular bunny. Convincing a group of Fouriers to let them go, Cathy takes her 'prisoner' to Namakata and is reunited with her adopted parents. She also meets-up with her sister, Julie/Callie and her kits. Namakata remember their fallen from the October battle on their Wall of Honor. The ceremony is interrupted as they witness Eugene Pomerleau's execution broadcast and add his name to the wall in addition to the recently deceased leader of the New Jersey freesquirrels, Rough. Cathy learns her 'prisoner', Joey, is Mustard Snowpaw's brother. She and Joey fall in love with each other and Cathy becomes pregnant. Cathy learns her adopted father, Steve Blake hasn't long to live due to the damage his heart has taken. The Blakes return to their farm at Maine Fudd HQ a few days before Christmas. Joey returns to his warren to spend Frithmas with his mother. On Christmas, Cathy announces to Joey via tightbeam that the Namakata elders have agreed to allow them to resettle in Joey's old warren, North Deering Warren, in northern Portland. Ready the Squirrel in New Jersey, mate of the late Rough, receives a videotape of the memorial service and a squirrel crossbow. He and other squirrels in New Jersey quickly copy and adopt the 'Namakata' as they dub the bow. Hazel Busheytail with Dr. Firbrush's blessing travels to Volo Bog to take a crash course in bunny medicine so the Blakes will have a new doctor.
2000: January The 'Namakata' bow in the paws of New Jersey squirrels begins to exact a heavy toll on devilbunny forces.; August Steve Blake is transferred to Namakata to undergo a heart transplant. He spends the rest of the month and most of the next recovering at Namakata. Joey Snowshoe escapes his warren to be reunited with Cathy. Joey becomes fast friends with his niece, Lady Slipper.; September Devilbunnies from DEWComm come looking for Joey. They encounter Steve Blake, Joey and Lady Slipper in a clearing a few miles from Namakata proper. In the resulting fight, Joey is severely injured, none of the attacking buns live. Steven Blake dies. Blake becomes only the second bun honored on Namakata's Wall of Honor for the Dead.
2001: February The Fudd, Lucielle Walker, arrives at Namakata. A victim of bunnyvirus, she slowly converts towards devilbunnydom. She falls into a comma soon after arrival. Mustard does everything in his power over the next few months, first to try and stop the conversion and then concentrates on trying to keep her alive through the conversion.; May Lucielle Walker/Black Angel comes out of her comma to find that she's now a jet black devilbunny doe. She begins therapy under Mustard's guidance as he helps her retain as much of her humanity as possible. Throughout her recovery stage during the summer, she is haunted in her dreams by images of Rabbit Mentat.; Late May/Early June While exploring the ruins of old Namakata, Lucielle finds both Rabbit Mentat's and Aldin Busheytail's Certificates of Mentatship. Aldin rewards her with an old suit of bunarmor stored in a forgotten corner of Namakata Warren.; August Lucielle/Black Angel is discharged from Mustard's care. Lucy meets Cathy Blake who gives her a copy of Steve Blake's memoirs to help her maintain her humanity in her new fluffy body. A few days before her departure, Lucy witnesses Mustard being award "the degree of Mentat" with concentration in conversion. Aldin announces his retirement and turns all administrative duties in regards to the labs over to Mustard. The other squirrels hold a celebration for Mustard. Lucielle and her human companion, Susan Richard deliver 'Da Beast II' to the Maine Fudds on their way out of state.; October Aldin Oakhurst, hero of the '96 rabies epidemic, is given a commission in the Army of Fudd and assigned as liason to the Maine Fudds. He soon afterwards becomes the mate of Sassafras SnowPaw.
2002: Late March: In a late night raid, Deering Outpost is wiped-out. No survivors are found when the Fudds send a crew to investigate why Deering does not return messages. Attack was carried out by buns from DEWComm. Some of the squirrels that were captured are butchered and cooked for an Easter Vigil dinner by Cookie Lightclaws. A few escape and make their way back to Namakata to report their grisly tail^H^Hle. Little do they know that they have been bugged with low power nanites that help the Maine buns pinpoint the exact location of Namakata. Puffcheeks (son of Aldin and Ash Busheytail) vows to reestablish Deering Outpost. He names another survivor of the recent Easter Vigil ordeal, Clipper SnowPaw, as his second.; Late April: Lady Slipper has a falling out with the leaders of Volo Bog Warren after a chocolate toe incident that nearly gets her Aunt Cathy executed. After secretly feeding the council toes and her aunt is exonerated of all charges, Lady Slipper leaves the warren.; May: Namakata's 30th Anniversary is observed quietly by the squirrels after Aldin notes the date. Sassafras bears a litter at Maine Fudd HQ.; June: Edith Totten of the Rhode Island anti-devilbunny forces visits the Namakata squirrels. A few days later, Louise "Techi" Thomas, Edith's lover, contracts bunnyvirus after being attacked by a devilbunny in Rhode Island. She is rushed to Namakata and placed under the care of Mentat Mustard SnowPaw. Mustard spends the next four weeks trying to suppress the infection as he experiences episodes of deja vu from his previous encounter with an HLV victim the previous summer.; July: Techi starts to loose hope when her lover and Doc Carter arrive to provide her with another option--Fourier Transformation. Techi opts for conversion but does not reveal her true plans to Mustard. To speed the process along and to reduce the pain/torture Techi is experiencing, Mustard paws the syringe to Dr. Carter, who injects Techi with the modified Blake-strain of HLV donated by Mustard's sister-in-law, Cathy, at Volo Bog Warren. Soon after her conversion is completed, Techi leaves for Rhode Island where she begins her trip on the road to wyrmbundom.; August: In retribution for Deering, the Maine Fudds wipe-out a small warren on the outskirts of Bangor. The lone survivor, Marigold SnowPaw, is captured alive and sent to Namakata. Mustard is overjoyed to be reunited with his mother, but she isn't allowed to stay and is sent to Volo Bog Warren. During the trip, she tightbeams details on Namakata back to the Maine Buns. Word reaches Namakata of the courageous battles faced by the courageous squirrels who volunteered to aid the Portland, Oregon Fudds. The one member to not survive, Rumor Chitterflick, is added to Namakata's Wall of Honor.; September: Symps under orders from Jerry Crimsonpaw, head of the Maine buns, commit acts of arson across the Maine North Woods. One fire, the Black Pinnacle blaze burns thousands of acres to the southwest of Namakata. A last minute shift in the weather spares the warren proper. The squirrels loose approximately 15% of their winter mast crop and are forced to turn to their Fudd allies for aid.; October: More tragedy strikes. The Northfield, Minnesota Fudds report the loss of all their squirrel scouts who died courageously, saving many Fudds. Again, the stone chisels are busy on the Wall of Honor. Two dozen squirrels quickly volunteer to travel to Northfield as replacements for their fallen comrades.

On October 31, a dozen 'devilskunks' arrive at the Fort Roger Williams in Rhode Island for a masquerade ball. The 'skrunks' from Namakata take top prize for best "Omega Violation" costume. They then report to the base CO as being assigned to the base from Namakata through the winter.; November Sixteen squirrels from Dunwich arrive at Namakata to undergo training in squirrel-to-human relations
2003: April The Dunwich squirrels return to Dunwich with 8 additional squirrels to try and teach what they have learned.
2004: Late January/early April POSSE squirrels in Portland, Oregon liberate the squirrel slaves of Lark Mountain Warren. Their leader, Able Patterpaw, posed as Sadie Squirrel within the warren and is nearly killed in battle. Her injuries are so severe that she is shipped to Namakata for treatment. Many of the former slaves go with her, while others choose to stay at the PDX Fudd base.
