Buzzy World Tour--Maine Adventure
15 August, 2003--Bangor and Crawford Lake

Buzzy arrived late in the afternoon and was quickly ushered into the STEALTH LEMON. Our first stop, Bangor:

Statue of Paul Bunyan Buzzy insisted on getting his picture taken with the lifesize statue of the original Maine Lumberjack, Paul Bunyan. This 31 foot tall steel reinforced fiberglass statue weighs nearly 2 tons. A double-bit woodsman's axe rests on Paul's right shoulder. In his left hand is a cantdog or peavey, a device used to move logs. It was erected as part of Bangor's 125th Anniversary in 1959. There is a time capsule in the base is scheduled to be removed and opened for Bangor's 250th Anniversary in 2084. Buzzy shows he can't read human English well, by ignoring the sign on the base that says "Please do not climb on statue." Oh, where's Buzzy? He's the little dot in front of the point of the peavey.

After a short break in the Queen City, we headed two hours east down the "Airline" as Maine State Route 9 is called to the Wade (Fourier) Compound on Crawford Lake. Buzzy didn't take long to pitch his tent and settle in for the night.

What a view, huh? Just the loons to lull you to sleep.
