In honor of our late commander, Colonel Blake, we will keep his homepage unaltered except for this disclaimer at the top. The Colonel received his promotion just a few months before his death and hadn't updated this site after his promotion.
Major Eugene Pomerleau Commander, Maine Fudd, HQ
You stand at attention in respect for the Major. Out of the corner of your eye you note he is a rather large, 2 foot tall, brown pelt, with beige/tan underbelly devilbunny clad in a mini-Army of Fudd uniform. He hops around you, looking you up and down carefully.
"At ease."
You relax only to find yourself on the ground with Steve on your chest.
(STOMP!) "NEVER" (STOMP!) "TRUST" (STOMP!) "A DEVILBUNNY!" (STOMP!) "Get that through your head, or you won't live long in this war."
He hops-off you and indicates to you to follow him. The two of you tour the rural farm converted into training base somewhere near the town of China, Maine. The base now known as Maine Fudd Volunteers HQ.
"I am in charge of this facility" he (gesturefluffs) to the training center around you. "Over there, drilling the new recruits is my 2nd in Command, Eugene Pomerleau." He looks about and nods approval of how some of the new recruits are taking to axe training under the supervision of a Lumberjack Fudd. (sighfluff) "I use to be human," he continues and stops, staring you in the face. "I'm a good example as to why you shouldn't argue when Doc Matthews says it's time to take your Anti-Bunnies shot like a Fudd."
"It all happened back in the days when I served under the late Col. Jean-Paul Oullette at the Fudd base at Reese Air Force Base, outside of Lubbock, TX." His eyes drift-out of focus. "We were on a mission down to Waco, TX in April of '93. While the media was busy with those Davidians outside of town, we were battling Fluffers near Baylor University. We won the battle, but due to heavy loses on our side, we had to retreat. I learned about that later on. I had fallen in battle and thought I had died. Really wish I had when I awoke in the Infirmary at Lubbock Command for this is how I looked upon awakening. The medical team stated that my comrades witnessed me change on the 6 hour drive between Waco and Lubbock. At the time I was furious with Col. Oullette for he overrid my standing order to *POP* me if I should contract Bunnyvirus."
"He convinced me to become a spy for the Army of Fudd and that's exactly what I did for the next 18 or so months, successfully infiltrating several warrens throughout the south and gathering military information. Lubbock Command became Lubbock Fudd Intelligence (LuFI) thanks to my work. Eventually, I was promoted to my current rank of Major. Countless devilbunnies have perished and many a Fudd life has been saved over the years thanks to the information I obtained. During that time and up until October, '96, I kept my family in the dark as to what happened to me physically. All they knew was I was doing top secret work for the Air Force."
"I had served under Col. Oullette since the late 80's, first at Northern Maine Fudd HQ where Loring Air Force Base use to be and then down to LuFI, serving as interim commander while the Colonel helped drive the devilbunnies out of NoCO during the battle to retake NoCO in '95. He sent me up here to Maine as an observer while SGT Pomerleau established this training facility. Pomerleau would be in command today, if he hadn't created that fiasco that fall, now known as the Portland Battle of '95. If it weren't for his quick thinking after the fact, the war would now be public knowledge. Instead folks down that way think we were just filming another King horror film. Because of that, Col. Oullette made me in charge of operations up here in Maine."
A single tear rolled down his cheek. "It has been trying times up here since then. We caught a symp in our ranks in April '96 and after trial I executed him in front of the troops, showing them exactly what" his claws flex in and out rapidly accompanied by a 'shhhkkk' sound "a devilbunny can do to a human. It was a more merciful end to that traitor then his fluffy masters would have granted him."
You round the corner of a barn and hear 'FIRE IN THE HOLE!'. Steve quickly sticks earplugs in his ears as you hear a WWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!! that you feel against your chest as much as you hear. Computer chips and thick glass fly-out a barn door and land at your feet. Steve removes the plugs and (smirkfluffs) at you and answers before you can ask. "That's probably Chris Pomerleau, our Electronics Technician having a little fun 'recycling' junked equipment. It's not a site for the queasy in there, so be warned." (warningfluffthump)
You continue onward towards the farmhouse. "You will stay for coffee. My wife, Carolyn, is a wonderful cook...." just then a human boy of about 10 years of age followed by a devilbunny run out of the house and swamp Steve, yelling 'Daddy!'
(proudfluff) "Meet the kids, Mike" points to the boy "and Cathy," he hugs the brown and beige devilbunny doe who looks very similar to Steve. Cathy helps train the troops while my other daughter, Julie, currently works for Fudd Intelligence."
(nosetwitchfluff) "I use to be human too," Cathy pipes up, "and Julie's best friend. But I was kidnapped by devilbunnies who injected me with Human-Lapine Virus." (dewyeyes) "He and Carolyn aren't really my Mom and Dad," Cathy adds quickly. "But they do a good job at it since those same devilbunnies who kidnapped me, killed" (STOMP!wimperfluff) "my parents. Dad says I shouldn't hold a vendata, but if I ever catch-up with the symp who did it, I'll rip his throat out!" (STOMP!)
Blake gives a brief warning glare at Cathy before saying to you, "I'll tell you about that story later. As for Cathy," he hugs the doe again, "the buns must not know she or Julie are alive." His eyes focus into tiny beads as he looks you in the eye and continues quietly, "I assume I make myself CLEAR on that."
