The GED is a high school equivalency diploma which is earned by passing a five part exam. Subject areas are: Writing, Reading, Social Studies, Math, and Science.
Residents of Maine who are at least 18 years of age, and not enrolled in high school, are
eligible to take the G.E.D test for a Maine high school equivalency diploma.
Pre-testing & test preparation by qualified staff is available on an individualized basis.
Testing is by appointment & can be scheduled for either day or evening times.
All services relating to GED testing and instruction are FREE
Adult Ed Learning Center
The Learning Center is available for any student who wants to improve their skills in
preparation for GED testing, or continuing education at college or a vocational school.
GED Preparation
Basic reading, writing, math, life skills and preparation for the GED exam are taught in small groups or one-on-one in the H.S. Library. Pre-tests are given to improve skills Classes meet twice a week, and are ongoing with open enrollment. Please call 633-3224 for information. There is no fee to attend GED prep sessions.

6:15-8:45 pm in the High School Library
E.S.L. - (English as a Second Language) This class is for people who speak another language as a first language and would like to learn English or improve their English speaking, reading & writing skills.Citizenship topics will be included. There is no fee to attend ESL classes.
