Entry: "Nutty"

Things have been a bit nutty the last few days, and will continue to be nutty for the next few. And in addition to general nutty-ness, both Inventory and Christmas are looming at the store. Fun. Fun.

In a rebellion against adult concerns, I've been immersed in Trickster's Choice, the new Tamora Pierce book. In a change from her normal formula, it's to be one of two novels about Alanna's daughter. It's the best of hers that I've read... which pains me to say, because Lioness Rampant was the book of my young life. Trickster is about Alianne, who takes after George more than Alanna... which is a good thing. The book has more humor than the other Tortall story lines (less drama) and new unique characters. And it's longer. And of course it allows glimpses of Alanna and George at the ripe old age of 42... which is a nice nostalgic touch. So nostalgic was I, in fact, that after finishing Trickster, I began the Imortals series again. I could have gone all the way back to Lioness Rampant but it's possible that I've finally read it too many times... or maybe I should just wait five years or so.
