Entry: "Paul Auster, Gene Wolfe"

I read Paul Auster's Oracle Night on Saturday. It's good, but not quite my cup of tea. Strong characters, interesting plot... I dunno. I'm reading Heat Wave by Penelope Lively and loving it. It's intimate and sharp... grabbed me immediately. Auster just somehow passed me by. Maybe I'll flip through it again and think about it some more.

Andrew says the new Gene Wolfe is fantastic. I'll be reading it when he's finished.

Penelope Lively was one of my favorites when I was a kid. My mom always insisted it was a pseudonym, but I think it might be too weird to be a pseudonym.
