Talking to Matt on AIM now. The man needs a blog. He leads an interesting life, and I mean that in the best possible way.
We'll have 3 generations of Liz's family in the apartment tomorrow for brunch. Waffles and good stuff. Should be fun.
Someone out there in the wide world of geeky webness mentioned Ion as an interesting window manager to try, and it is. It's kind of hard to explain, though, so I won't try. It's a good antidote to desktop clutter, though it makes some programs, like The GIMP go completely insane.
Hmm. Pictures on the right seem to do very odd things when you resize the window. Oh well. Tired. Fix tomorrow.

One more thing: You'll notice that Jim is now on the bottom in the links and Elise is gone. Jim went on the bottom because I think his picture makes a nice bookend, and not because he's in blog detention or anything. Elise is gone because I think maybe she isn't doing the blog thing anymore... if she resurfaces I will return her to the linkage. Thank you, please tune in next time.
Well, things are once again altered a little. I fixed some nagging issues with the blog not working right (I think) and took advantage of the opportunity to exercise my current obsession with depressing greyness. I think it looks nice, but then I think it looks nice with my frightening-ass desktop as a backdrop. The quote will change (and probably change color, ech) when I can form coherent thoughts.

"But Harradine said the latest operation, called Operation Snipe, was not taking place in the Khost-Gardez region or near the Pakistani border."
Operation Snipe? Is it just me, or is someone at the Pentagon having a little fun at the Army's expense? Wednesday, May 01, 2002
I read The Dispossessed recently. It's very, very good. I will write a review at some point, but the Wiki seems to be moribund and I'm working on a site of my own.
But for the time being: If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. Monday, April 29, 2002Sunday, April 28, 2002
I couldn't wait for Seth to send it, so I broke down and bought Unreal Tournament over the weekend. I have to run it in OpenGL and it's freakin' huge, but man, what a brilliant game, and so much more meat on the bone than Quake 3.
Whew, been a crazy weekend. Went to Boston Friday, helped Karen out Saturday, and we've started Sunday with spring cleaning. But it's a good thing... the living room is a lot less of a TV room and a lot more welcoming now. And the bedroom's clean enough that my desk stands a reasonable chance of getting cleaned.
