I tried to read the aforementioned book without success. I got through the first novella, but it was about as interesting as watching paint dry, and the second one wasn't looking much better. So I put it down. Too bad, really... good author, good concept, utterly uninteresting book.

So it's back to short stories for me.

Goals for the weekend: See about getting some Windows drivers for my hardware. Read this book. Go to Mardens. Chill out with Karen and company.

I can see clearly now, my brain is gone.

Oh, I read a great, scary as hell Gene Wolfe story called "The tree is my hat" or something like that. Don't have a link for it, though.

I would like to avoid buying CDs from record companies that intend to use copy-protection. On the one hand, this may be all record companies. On the other hand, I don't buy much music. Anyone know if there's a list of who does and doesn't somewhere?

One's evening is a lot easier when one doesn't have to do laundry.

I have to admit that I'm growing attached to Hutch Owen. Dunno why, I just like it.

Sometimes I get attached to nonsense words. Lately I've been attached to "Gorbanzo". I took a trip over to Google and discovered that Gorbanzo is quite a common misspelling for Garbanzo. I also discovered this which seems to want me to think that people really have an urgent need to translate the word Anthrax into Hindi. Hmm.

It's only a state of mind.

I think I'm about ready to see this movie again.

three cheers!

Or maybe?

Well, the Wiki review will have to wait for a bit... I've gotten stung by the short story bug and am reading a variety of those at the moment.
