When we travel on a road:

Any building higher than fifteen feet needs special consideration. The electric, telephone and cable companies must be notified to check their wire heights, and possibly will need to take the wires down for us to pass. This is the responsibility of the building owner to contact the companies. Wires that cross the road are supposed to be at least eighteen feet high. The wires that cross driveways need only be fifteen feet.

Buildings that are wider than sixteen feet need to have State Police escorts. These troopers must be scheduled ahead of time and do this on their day off. It is best to have two troopers escort us, one clears the traffic ahead by directing drivers into driveways or side roads, and one keeps hurried travelers from trying to pass us. We supply the troopers with C. B. radios so Ken is able to talk with them. Whenever it is safe we move off the road as much as possible to allow delayed traffic to pass.

We'll also need to notify the local police, ambulance, and fire departments we will be moving a structure over the road. We contact three local radio stations and ask they announce the time we need to travel as a courtesy to travelers. When an alternate route is available we must post signs to advise traffic.
