LANDSCAPE INFO

Olympus Mons (2795 AD) : Olympus Mons is a gigantic volcano on the surface of Mars. It is roughly twice as tall as Mt. Everest and nearly 500 kilometers in diameter. The image was constructed using data obtained by NASA's Viking spacecraft. It shows a Mars in the distant future where man a terraformed the land into a place where water can flow and humans can walk without spacesuits. VistaPro rendered the image and added the trees, water, and other features to make it look like the terraformed future of Mars.

The Alps : A broad view of the European Alps.

Mandelbrot's Revenge: This image is a three dimensional artificially generated image from VistaPro. A mathematical algorithm generates the data that is usually represented with different colors. Here, vistapro renders the set as a three dimensional representation. The Mandelbrot is 1.255525 real, -.381060 imaginary, with a diamter of approximately 0.007.

Mars Caldera: This is a view of Olympus Mons once again. The viewing angle is offset by about 60 degrees from the first image. Perhaps this was a Mars of the past with flowing water and life.

Mt. Saint Helens: On May 18, 1980 the volcano Mr. St. Helens in Washington State blew its top. Almost everything within eight miles of the blast was obliterated. Winds from the blast were calculated at 670 miles an hour. This image shows the volcano after the explosion.

Crater Lake: Crater Lake in the caldera of an ancient volcano in Oregon. Wizard island can be seen in the bottom portion of the image.

SOME USES OF VISTAPRO:

Vistapro is not only of interest to scientists and engineers. Artists, writers, teachers, game designers, travelers and people just looking for hours of entertainment will appreciate Vistapro. Artists can design realistic scenery as backgrounds for their artwork. Writers can create worlds and see them through their characters' eyes. Geography, geology and meteorology teachers can use Vistapro to breathe life into their subjects. Game designers can make realistic or surrealistic scenery for backgrounds in their games. Travelers, hikers and backpackers can preview their journeys. Vistapro can be pure entertainment. Explore fascinating terrains that you might never have a chance to see or visit planets that man has not yet trod. Build new worlds that exist nowhere except in the imagination and then visit them as if they were really there. On the other hand, there are many scientific and business applications for Vistapro. Environmentalists, surveyors, geologists, architects and engineers will all find Vistapro a useful adjunct to their work.
