Commissions
Ordering / Pricing
The price of the commissioned painting will be determined by
size, level of detail, style and medium used. Please E-Mail me so
that we can talk about what you wish for in your cat portrait. After we
discuss the
details of the painting, I will quote you a completion date and the
total price for the work and shipping costs. Once quoted to you by me,
this price is set and will not be changed. I will then require 30% of
the total up front to cover material costs and as a deposit. I will
make as many revisions as necessary until you are 100% happy with the
painting. I will send digital images by e-mail of the painting to you
for your approval before sending you an invoice for the remaining total
amount due. Most commissions
can be completed and shipped within 12 weeks of ordering. Oil paintings
will take 4-6 weeks longer because
of the drying and curing time.
Below are the approximate prices for artwork created on watercolor
paper, acrylic on paper, and oil or acrylic on canvas. Gallery wrapped
canvas available if requested for an additional fee. I can also work in
other mediums and sizes upon request.
Cat Portraits
Each
portrait can be painted in any style you see on my website. I try to
capture the
unique personality and features of your cat. Please view the examples
shown in my Cat Paintings
Gallery and elsewhere on my site to get an idea of the styles of art
that I offer. This will
serve as a good starting point for the painting.
I will need at least 2 (close-up and full body) good clear photos of
your cat, more photos if you have them. Photos can be sent as digital
images by e-mail, or by regular post office mail. (All mailed photos
will be returned with the completed painting.) Please also include your
pet's name, sex, any unique markings that do not show up well in the
photos and anything else I should know about your cat. It is important
to submit photos which best show the character of your cat. It is also
helpful to know which if any of my prior work resembles what you are
looking for in your cat's portrait.
If you wish for me to place the portrait of your cat in a
specific
kind of background (ie. an indoor or outdoor setting), I can work with
your photographs of that setting. If you wish for your cat or
cats to
be in a fantasy setting we can discuss the details to help create what
you might envision. Please be aware that adding more detail to
the
painting can add to the quoted price.

Cat Portraits with People
If you wish for a realistic likeness I will need
several good quality photos of the cat's human. The photos can be
sent digitally or through the mail. If your are more interested
in a cartoon-like or fantasy rendering of the person in the painting
I
can also do that. I charge an additional $50 -$200 (depending on
size and level of detail) for a portrait of you or the person of your
choice with your cat or cats.
Other Custom Cat Paintings and Digital "Morphing" of your cat photos
I offer cat painting commissions based on a theme,
or of a specific breed of cat. Do you possibly see something in
my Cat Gallery or in my other galleries on my art website that you
liked? I can do a similar painting for you. You can
pick the colors, size, etc. I also have experience with using Photoshop
to Morph cats into angels or place your cat in a fantasy setting.
