Goranson Farm is a second-generation,
widely diversified vegetable farm. Located on the Kennebec and
Eastern River peninsula, we are fortunate to farm some of the most
fertile land in Maine. We are a comfortable 15-minute drive from

HISTORY Goranson
Farm is owned and operated by Jan Goranson, Rob Johanson, and
their sons Carl and Goran. Jan's father and mother, Everett and
Geneva, had farmed high-quality potatoes on this land since the
1960's, and their parents were farmers in northern Aroostook
County. For the last 21 years, Ja n
and Rob have worked to maintain this very unique family farm and
preserve the irreplaceable open space along Merrymeeting Bay.
By keeping some of the best agricultural land in Maine
growing nutritious food, everyone in the community benefits.
Not only does a fast disappearing way of life survive, but the
rural character so important to our vision of Maine is sustained.
CSA - LOOKING TO THE
FUTURE
Goranson Farm is a widely diversified maple syrup, vegetable
and berry farm. This year, we will have 68 acres
of vegetables, berries a nd
hay in certified organic production. Since 1992,
the farm has offered a unique, mutually beneficial arrangement
between farmer and community called Community Supported
Agriculture (CSA). In exchange for financial support in the
spring from "shareholders," we commit to providing
healthy, locally-grown food through the growing season.
