The Church of the Good Shepherd is located in the quaint village of Rangeley nestled in the Western Maine mountains.

First, I'd like to tell you a little bit more about the area: The town of Rangeley and the village of Oquossoc sit at opposite ends of Rangeley Lake, 1,500 feet above sea level. The area contains over 40 lakes and ponds, and mountains rise as high as 4,100 feet. The permanent population of the town and surrounding plantations is about 1,500, increasing to about 6,000 during the summer months. A vacation destination for over 100 years, we are a welcoming community with a growing number of retirees. Rangeley offers the ultimate fly-fishing, fishing and boating experience. You can hike on the Appalachian Trail or choose from a multitude of destinations be it mountain top or scenic waterfall. Our Main Street is part of the Maine Scenic Highway! Camp and picnic at Rangeley State Park or at one of many private campgrounds. Rangeley is a also a destination vacation spot during the winter for skiing at Saddleback and Sugarloaf USA and snowmobiling on the International Trail System. There are miles of groomed cross-country ski trails, incredible views and abundant wildlife.
There are two main roads to Rangeley
If you are coming from southern Maine
Exit the interstate in Lewiston/Auburn and take Route 4 North.
After about 21 miles, turn left onto Route 108 in Livermore.
I usually turn right in West Peru (about 15 miles) and cross the Androscoggin River.
Turn left onto Route 2 and follow it to the stoplight in Rumford. Turn right onto Route 17 and follow this windy mountain road for about an hour. You will see some beautiful vistas and please, watch closely for moose!
Route 17 ends in a T intersection in Oquossoc (you're almost here). Turn right and go about 8-9 miles.
You will come down a hill into Rangeley. Look on the right side of the road for the Good Shepherd Church. It's after Rangeley Lake Builders Supply. If you see the Alpine Shop, then you've gone too far. Just turn around and come back a couple hundred feet.
There is parking in back of the church building.
Welcome!
If you are coming from mid/northern Maine
Go to Farmington and take Route 4 North for about an hour to Rangeley.
You will go through 2 small towns: Strong and Phillips. You will see a sign that reads entering Township E. Keep going....
Watch for Moose!
You will see a lake on your left and you are almost there. You will go past most of the shops in Rangeley.
Go straight, do NOT turn right onto Route 16.
Keep looking on the left. The Good Shepherd Church is after the Alpine Shop. If you see the Rangeley Lakes Builders Supply, then you have gone too far. Just turn around and come back a few hundred feet.
There is parking in back of the church.
