1. To give older at-risk population, as well as blind & visually impaired and mentally challenged individuals the opportunity to find purpose in their life by giving them the opportunity to combine education, work and pleasure.

1. A cooperative community program that enlists the participation of complimentary organizations to provide:
2. Friends International feels that cooperative efforts are the essence of community. There is no need to compete for the dwindling number of program resources available. Projects can get more added values by working together and drawing on each other’s strengths for success. This program:
1. Use donated boats as the focal point and:
(1) Identifies a predetermined number of clients desirous of learning boat skills in order to work within the marine industry.
(2) Through this the clients learn responsibility of taking on a project and carrying it through to completion. Clients are involved from the start in planning and implementation. During this process clients learn:
(1) Work ethic
(2) Cooperation with fellow workers
(3) Working within the community by:
(1) Helping find donations
(2) By phone and/or personal contact
(4) Job skills in repairing boats
(1) Design and implementation
(2) Fiberglass application
(3) Engine repair
(4) Boat electrical systems
(5) Job searching and interviewing
(6) Financial responsibility
