FRIENDS INTERNATIONAL is a private tax exempt (501(c)(3) voluntary organization working with third world people helping them help themselves. In order to promote peace, understanding and a little better way of life for those less fortunate.

FRIENDS INTERNATIONAL has both domestic and international projects.

2. Kids learning about other kids' cultures

Currently the KIDS TO KIDS pilot project is raising money to build a school in Haiti. The children are developing their own fund-raising projects and have picked a number of study areas to learn about. Other schools are invited to become involved.

2. FRIENDS INTERNATIONAL would like to develop a syndicated TV show on cross cultural awareness. As communities become more ethnically entwined it is hoped this show will reach out to help develop interest, understanding, awareness and harmony to the various cultures within the community.

3. VACATION FRIENDS is a "private" peace corps where persons desiring to do something meaningful during their vacation can do so by working on projects for short periods of time either domestically or internationally. Such projects include:

4. BUSINESS FRIENDS are business people desirous of working with the development of small businesses in the developing world. Some businesses donate funds for specific projects while others donate to the general fund and/or volunteer services.

5. EDUCATION FRIENDS are folks from the educational community interested in working in educational areas. Upon their return to their communities EDUCATION FRIENDS share their experience with local community groups; schools, churches, civic groups etc.. Through such community involvement it is hoped that world peace and understanding is increased.

It is the goal of FRIENDS INTERNATIONAL to develop an educational center for the training of project leaders from host countries as well as training for teachers and participants. The center will sponsor workshops, seminars, in-service training and help educators with curriculum development for integrating peace and understanding into existing programs.

As projects are identified and approved by FRIENDS INTERNATIONAL, participants are chosen from a list of registered persons. Individual interests and needs are matched with project needs. We are trying to develop projects that are on-going for a period of time with volunteers revolving over the life of the project. FRIENDS INTERNATIONAL is also working on developing projects where the handicapped may participate.

FRIENDS INTERNATIONAL cooperates and works with other groups and projects world wide when and where needed.
