About the Artist
I'm an almost 66 year old artist & have been drawing & painting all of my life just
about. I learned from my father, Henry Andrew
Gaydash, while sitting on his lap at
age 3 and watching him sketch & draw. I went to the "Cleveland Institute of Art &
Case Western Reserve University "(Graduated) and then trekked to NY to study at the
"Arts Student League of NY & NYU". I also studied with Robert Brackman & privately
with Hideo Date (6 yrs on color ). I have been in many art exhibits & met my husband
Frank Diaz Escalet on the corner of 8th St. & University Place in 1960(Greenwich
Outdoor Art Show) and we have been together ever since. Still love him & admire his
work. Do to Growing Family & death of my son, Daniel, I did not paint between 1983
and 2001. However I did paint mentally every day. I am now back to work this past
year & teaching as I go. I work in all media, oils, acrylics, watercolors, paper, board,
yarns, ink, charcoal, pastels, leather, beads, clay, wood, metals, gold & silver,
anything I can get my hands on. I consider myself an " impressionistic realist ". I love
to paint nature, the human figure & still life. I hope you enjoy your visit with my
work & the beauty that I see in my everyday
life.
