- Record Time
- Steve Key
- Local Folkel
- In musical content he'll remind you of a modern day, Loudon
Wainwright or John Prine. His songs have the same kind of clever,
off-beat humor and sincere lyrical style that made those two
latter-day, "folkies," so endearing. You may need to
look for this one, but you'll be glad you did. (SC)

- Busman's Holiday
- John Kilzer
- Geffen
- This former English Lit professor offers a succinct and perceptive
view of life, love and happiness while dwelling on the darker
side of things. What results is an album overflowing with vivid
images, caustic thoughts and a delirious ease of form that bears
repeated listening. This one's worth looking for. (SC)

- Live
- Albert King
- Rhino
- Recorded at the Montreux Festival a few years back, this
Rhino reissue features guitarists Rory Gallagher and Louisiana
Red supplying an ample amount of rhythm chords over which King
teases and bends notes on "Lucy," his trademark flying-V
guitar. It's one hell of a set presented just as it happened.
Phew. (BB)

- The Tomato Years
- Albert King
- Rhino
- We should be thankful to the folks at Rhino. They manage
to reissue lots of gems that otherwise would remain out of print.
As the title indicates, this disc is a compilation of his late
'70s recordings for Tomato with eighteen pages of essays written
by Kevin Eggers and Pete Welding. (CS)

- In Concert
- Carole King
- King's X/Rhythm Safari
- Recorded during her 1993 tour, this album serves a momento
for any fan who may have caught a show and a rare treat for those
of us who didn't. These same concerts were broadcast recently
by PBS. Crosby and Nash are featured on the bonus track,"You've
Got A Friend." (CS)

- Some Like It Raw
- Eddie Kirkland
- Deluge
- Believe it or not, this is the first live recording he's
made during his long, critically acclaimed career. Captured over
a hot three night stint at The Yale Hotel in Vancouver, BC and
edited/mastered by John Etnier, it sounds like it was worth the
long wait. For more info, call: 883-1712. (CS)

- Dream
- Kitaro
- Geffen
- He's Baaack. And with the help of Jon Anderson of, Yes ,
fame he has managed to record an album that's more enjoyable
than last year's, Live In America . Anderson wrote the lyrics
and sings on three of the ten cuts, which sound like some of
his own recent solo works. (BB)

- Live In America
- Kitaro
- Geffen
- Japanese synthesist returns with a second live recording
recalling several pieces from his multi-album career. What has
been dubbed "New Age", is nothing more than an orchestral
synthesis of the traditional Oriental muse and modern electronic
instrumental technology that is both meditative and relaxing.
Listen with the lights off. (SC)

- Banshee Mandolin
- John Kruth
- Flying Fish
- Luka Bloom once called John Kruth,"The Peter Townshend,"
of the mandolin. This disc will more than tell you why. Humor,
finesse and damn good playing abound. A cover of The Yardbirds,
"Over Under, Sideways Down," and several clever originals,
make this worth the price of admission. Buy it NOW. (BB)
