2004 York District Spring Camporee

“ TAKING AIM “

May 21-23

Hosted by Troops 312 & 327

Up date as of 3/26:

The costs for the Camporee have been established. A per person cost has been set at $ 7.00. This will cover the ammo, targets and safety equipment.

Attention Troops: Scouts must be 13 years old by 5/21/04 to participate in the senior division. The senior division will have shotgun shooting and will not participate in the water balloon throwing competition. For this Camporee patrols need to be split into under 13 and 13 and older groups, with the standard patrol of a maximum of 8.

For the water balloon competition a throwing device must be Troop Built. The device must be capable of throwing a 6-inch diameter balloon at various targets. The first target will be at 50 feet.

Campsites will be approx. 100 ft. by 40 ft. Above ground fires will be allowed on each site as long as we are not under dry conditions. No trailers will be allowed on the site, however all sites have access for dropping gear.

Gateways will be judged and points awarded for each Troop that participates. Top 3 gateways for best theme will be chosen.

The fire hose event may get you damp if your skills for being a Fireman are not up to standards. Bring extra clothes and shoes, as the area may get muddy as the skill continues throughout the day.

Drinking water will be from a public water supply and containers may be filled at any time.

Women will have access to flush toilets near the campsites. For everyone else the standard porta-pottie will be available in the camping and shooting areas.

Scouts: Pack a pair of work gloves. You Will Need Them…

The Saturday Night Campfire program will be held in amphitheatre style on the shooting range. Bring something to sit upon. Patrols will be asked to participate.

NO ONE IS TO BRING HIS OR HER PERSON SHOTGUN, 22 RIFLES, BOW OR ANY OTHER WEAPON. ALL WEAPONS FOR THE WEEKEND WILL BE UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE SHOOTING INSTRUCTORS.
