2004 York District Spring Camporee

“ TAKING AIM “

May 21-23

Hosted by Troops 312 & 327

WELCOME

Staff will get you to the proper campsite. Please drop gear and move all vehicles to the proper parking location. No trailers will be allowed on the site. Vehicles hauling trailers will be parked 90 degrees to Lebanon Road. All other vehicles will be on the dirt parking lot near the community center. This will allow for traffic flow for other units. NO PARKING IS ALLOWED ON THE PAVEMENT as another function is being held Saturday morning in the community center.

FRS Radio Traffic -  On arrival the parking scouts will be using Channel 1 on the FRS band.  Any questions about where things are located start with this channel.  HQ will be using Channel 3 for the weekend.  Please keep your troops off this channel.  If you are trying to contact staff you may come on channel 3 and request help.  You will then be directed to another channel to keep this one clear of all non-staff chatter.

Once set-up, please have the person(s) in charge of the unit please fill out the Patrol Rosters by junior and senior patrols. Attention Troops: Scouts must be 13 years old by 5/21/04 to participate in the senior division. The senior division will have shotgun shooting and tomahawk throwing and will not participate in the water balloon throwing and airplane building competition. For this Camporee patrols need to be split into under 13 and 13 and older groups, with the standard patrol of a maximum of 8. Please turn in medical forms and rosters before 8:15 pm so the Staff can review prior to the SPL/Scoutmaster meeting at 8:45 pm.

Drinking water is from a public water supply and containers may be filled at any time at the outside faucet on the corner of the Community Center.

Women will have access to flush toilets near the campsites. For everyone else the standard porta-pottie will be available in the camping and shooting areas. Please have respect for other Scouts and keep the toilets CLEAN.

Above ground fires will be allowed on each site, as long as we are not under dry conditions.

NO ONE IS TO BRING HIS OR HER PERSON SHOTGUN, 22 RIFLES, BOW OR ANY OTHER WEAPON. ALL WEAPONS FOR THE WEEKEND WILL BE UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE SHOOTING INSTRUCTORS.

SPL and Scoutmasters Must ATTEND the Friday Night 8:45PM meeting at HEADQUARTERS for Camporee Handout Information.
