We invite you to join our vibrant grassroots movement here in Downeast Maine building upon this community of prayer, study and action as we explore the transforming power of nonviolence and to work for peace for all humankind, always witnessing to the peace of Christ.

Pax Christi Acadia meets on the first Sunday of each month at 9:30 A.M. (between Masses) in the Fellowship Hall of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ellsworth.

You are warmly invited to our next meeting.

An Important Message to Peace People:

SHALOM, PEACE THROUGH NONVIOLENCE

In addition to our monthly meetings on the first Sunday of the month, Pax Christi Acadia will be joining other local Pax Christi groups in a series of special ecumenical Pax Christi services.

Father Jim Gower has graciously offered to hold a special once-a-month ecumenical service dedicated to world peace. These special services will typically take place on the first Wednesday of each month. Group discussion will follow the service. The locations for these events will be varied so as to encourage interaction between local peace groups and to increase awareness of Pax Christi and Christ's message of peace through nonviolence. The Pax Christi service is around Christ's table - open to all.

The next ecumenical service will be held at the Newman Center of UMO, 83 College Ave., Orono on Wednesday evening December 1st from 6:00 to 7:30 pm for a shalom supper, including, scripture, song, prayer and a dialogue on the “The Non-violent Way of Jesus” and an opportunity to meet with the Catholic Students Association. Please bring a pot luck dish to share. For more information call 288-9780.

Future services will be announced by email and will be posted here on the Pax Christi Acadia web site. If you would like to have your name added to our email list, please let us know: info@paxchristimaine.org
