Meet Rowan!

Rowan (CH Burlesque Doing It Her Way, HIC) joined us on St. Paddy's Day, 2013. She comes from Burlesque Bearded Collies of Ohio and Virginia. Thanks to Laura Colombo and her mom Pat for helping make this happen! Her parents are GCH Highlander MacBean at Burlesque (Bean) and CH Burlesque The Diplomat (Leeza), which makes her one of the first litter of Beanie babies. Thus far she looks (and sometimes acts) just like her daddy!

Rowan has OFA Excellent Hips and OFA Normal Elbows, Eyes, and Thyroid.

Here is her page on the Burlesque website. It includes more of Ro's show photos, especially those with co-owner Laura on the lead!

Her pedigree is here (courtesy of bcpedigree.se; please support Irena's excellent site).

Her litter name was Laverne (of "Laverne and Shirley" fame), but I just couldn't see myself yelling "Laverrrrrne! Lie downnnnnn!" in a sheep pen surrounded by Border Collie people. I went to Ohio with a long list of girl names, and the puppy helped name herself on the way home.

Ro finished her AKC CH at the same place where she obtained her first point the year before: At the Penobscot Valley KC shows in Cumberland, ME.

Here's a picture of Rowan after winning her class at the 2013 BCCA National with Graeme Burdon handling. (Blame my scanner for the psychedelic patterns on Graeme's suit. They weren't there in the original photo.)

Judge: Pat Hastings. Photo by Allen Bierman, Agents Photo Service.

She's a funny, funny puppy — and she definitely has agility in her future!

Speaking of funny... here's my current favorite show photo, thanks to Jerry Bergen. This was taken at the 2013 Thanksgiving Cluster in Springfield on the day Ro got her third major. Jess Thibault is handling.

RoRo earned the BCCA HIC and a leg toward the AKC HIC. She also has two Canadian KC points and 25 UKC points. In 2014, Ro was the #2 Bearded Collie in the country in UKC. She has one leg toward an AKC HT.
