Rinnai Heater Installation Tip #1 -

Even though this tip comes at the end of the Installation...So many current installations are not correct and need help - and that is with the Temperature Sensor Placement.

There have been many, many inquiries both by phone and on my Forum because the Heater seems to 'short cycle', run toooooooooo long; uses too much fuel; or has inconsistent heating - and all this has to do with the ALL IMPORTANT but little discussed Temperature Sensor.

The Sensor comes coiled up behind the Heater and that is the LAST place it should be because the heat from the Heater and the cold from the Wall fight back-and-forth and that poor little Sensor sometimes just does NOT know what to do. Keeping the Heater running smoothly and consistently regardless of which heating mode It is in is the key to a Long-lived Heater (as much as 50% longer life) and Smooth-Comfortable heat ~ ~ ~

The Sensor should be uncoiled out to its longest length and affixed in some way off the wall and about 8" off the floor. This can be done by stapling the Sensor to a piece of wood; wrapping it around a chair leg; taping it to a soda bottle (filled with rocks or sand for stability). And the point is to try the Sensor in different places to find where YOU get the best Comfort and Heater runs the smoothest. You can even extend the Sensor-wire by cutting-in speaker wire up to 10' for better placement (the Factory says this can't be done but we and customers do it all the time). The temperature readings may be off kilter but that matters not - just Your Comfort and Heater Stability.

Why is this problem NOT discussed by the Factory as Al's Heating does? As great as the Rinnai Gas Heaters are (the Best in the World) the CEO's, Engineers, Regional-reps, Salesmen and Penny-pinchers and all CEOs from GE to Goodyear to Enron, etc. really don't care about you - they are a bunch of dinks who really ONLY care about their Millions in Paychecks, HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE bonuses, Health Benefits-Retirement, etc. Once the box is sold...You are on your own with ALL CEO's of ALL companies everywhere and you can bet your life on that!

So try different things and see how this Rinnai Heater Installation Tip works out. And if you can help others...Place a 'Post' on my Forum:
