One of the surprises in the 2001 analysis of the proposed Vermont Single Payer plan, was that their uninsured were receiving services worth $ prior to the proposed Plan, but these would drop down to $ afterwards, since the Single Payer plan’s services were costed out at MEDICAID rates. I should also point out that young men frequently have sports and other personal injuries which may not be covered by a private insurance plan, let alone MEDICAID. In many cases, they have been incorporated into Workmen’s COMPENSATION CLAIMS. This also illustrates my pet peeve that health care analysts are obsessed with sickness; and never study the healthy, their lifestyles, and what government can do to convince others to adopt them. |
