Renaissance

Boothbay Region High School became a Renaissance school approximately 10 years ago for the purpose of recognizing academic achievement. Students are recognized with gold cards for all A's, blue cards for A's and B's, for quality points, and for perfect attendance. Quality points encourages students to adopt behaviors which will help lead to academic success. Students are given these by faculty and staff. Perfect attendance means no tardies or dismissals. Local businesses donate gift certificates for each trimester. Ten to 12 students are selected from a drawing each trimester. In May, an awards evening celebrates student success with certificates and pins.

Honor Roll

The Honor Roll is based upon a point system organized by the Boothbay Region High School Chapter of the National Honor Society. To be eligible a student must carry six courses, five of which do not use the pass/fail system of grading. The honor roll recognizes an 80 point or better average for the marking period in each subject area. High honors recognizes a 90 point or better average in each subject area.

National Honor Society

The National Honor Society of Boothbay Region High School held its annual induction ceremony on January 29. Ten new members were inducted bringing present chapter membership to a total of 21 students. A reception in the school library for new inductees, their guests, faculty and present members of the Honor Society followed the ceremony. Members of the National Honor Society are selected by their teachers for not only their Scholarship, but also for the qualities of Service, Leadership, and Character. Juniors and Seniors who have an overall average of 85 are given the opportunity to fill out a form detailing their activites. These forms are made available to the faculty who fill out rating sheets which indicate their analysis of each student. A committee of faculty then meets to go over the faculty ratings and to vote on the new inductees. Those students who are selcted are informed of their acceptance prior to the induction ceremony. Current and new members include seniors Erik Scorcia, Eliza Kinsey, Ruth McNutt, Rachel Reed, Lisa Arsenault, Lori Benner, Jennifer Giles, Kathleen Grant, Joe Harrison, Noah Beck, Meredith Frisco, Pamela Frost, Adriannne Monck, Sarah Murray, Mike Lorrain, and juniors Sara Rosen, Kara Jackimovicz, Cheryl Pappas, Ben Smith, Matt Thomson and Marshall Greenleaf.
