Senior Privileges
The seniors in our school
receive senior privileges, if their grades allow them to do so. The
student has to receive a 70 or better in each class in order to have the
privileges, and they need to fill out an eligibility card signed by each
teacher. Having senior privileges allows the students who have a study
hall first or last periods to either come in late or leave early.
Students who have senior privileges first period do not have to show up to
school until 9:15 AM. Those that have senior privileges last period may
leave school at 12:40 PM. Halfway through the third trimester the
extended senior privileges take place. This allows those seniors who have
study halls in second or third periods to leave and they can also leave
during lunch.
Theme
Day
For two days out of the year, all the
classes in our school are stopped for an event called Theme Day. During
the students' normal classes, the theme day subject is presented in a
variety of ways. Some topics were: cooking Spanish cuisine during Spanish
classes, or cutting out random pictures of a magazine and making a skit
out of them, learning about the positioning of the moon to tell time,
figuring out the probablity of a tornado or flood hitting your area, or
just simply playing games. This year's theme was what you would do in
your leisure time without television. All teachers participate and the
students enjoy themselves during these two
days.
