Rain and fog. Snow coverage was about 12" at higher elevations. Some icing. Wind not a factor. The portion of this hike from near the Old Speck Summit to the Speck Pond Campsites is hardly covered in anything we read. It should be listed as a difficult 1.1 mile segment, up and down with some bare summit passes. Enjoyable, but more should be available about the details of this hike. Camped at pond for two nights. Beautiful. From there into the "notch" was adventurous and satisfying (without heavy packs).
