| Comments | You MUST have campsite reservations for each night or the outfitter will not let you out in the water. Make the reservations at least 30 days in advance. Sacobound / Northern waters was who we used and they were great. |

We entered the Magalloway River at Wilson Mills. An easy float down to the Diamond Peaks campsite, about 3 hours. It was real quiet until the coyotes started howling across the river around 11:00pm. We hiked the Diamond Peaks Trail in the Dartmouth Land grant the next day. Great views. Takes about 45 minutes once you hit the trailhead. The following day we went the rest of the way down the Magalloway to Umbagog Lake and crossed the lake around 2pm. The wind had picked up and made the crossing a little treacherous. We actually made a sail from a tarp and caught the wind between our 2 canoes! Best advise though would be cross earlier in the day to avoid the waves. We made our way to the Rapid river and paddled 1 mile up stream to the Cedar Stumps campsite. Beautiful area with tremendous fishing! The next day the weather was a little overcast and rainy so we stayed and fished for bass, chub, and perch. The last day we canoed out across the lake early and the water was like glass! We made our way to the Androscoggin, passed the eagles' nest. They were not there but we saw one baldy on the Androscoggin sitting in a tree. He waited for us to take pictures before taking off. As we paddled away, we heard a splash and turned to see him taking off from the river with a fish! The weather was the best they had all summer there and the trip was great. Be prepared with a compass to find your way. All the inlets and rivers look similar and it wasn't easy to find our way. We were picked up at the dam near Erroll.
