This was before the new snow on 01/16/00. Very icy at lower elevations, lots of soft snow near the summit with ice on ledges underneath the snow.
We hiked up in 2.75 hours, and leaving the summit at 4:30 made it down in 2.25. with the beautiful sunset and a bright 1/2 moon rising. We ran down until it got too icy and had to walk.
