| Comments | Treking poles were very helpful for tired legs. As always, wind/rain gear, fleece hat and gloves, even in July. |

We began at 5:00 a.m. on the Crawford Path and traversed every mountain from Pierce to Madison except for Franklin which we missed in the fog. At 3,700 feet we went into the fog/clouds and remained there until after Mt. Washington. The winds were steady at around 40-60 mph depending on whether we were on a mountaintop, col or in the lee. Of course, the winds were worse on top of Mt. Washington where we had difficulty with our footsteps and I had to hang on at the tip-top. Coming down from Mt. Washington we were thankful to have the clouds blow away. Met a couple gentlemen going in the opposite direction at about half way. Views from then on were great. We refilled water at Lakes, Washington summit and Madison and were able to purchase coffee cake at Lakes and chili dogs at Washington. Went out the Pine Link trail and arrived at the car just before 8:30. Book time for this was 15 hours, 20 minutes and that's what it took. Made good time going up and coming down but the wind and, at times, rough stepping took its toll. Sooo thankful for the T-vas in the car!
