From our base camp in the Kennebago Divide we bushwhacked to the summit of White Cap, which took about 45 minutes in the untracked snow. We passed through a moose bedding area in heavy fir thickets which was a treat. No sightings of any moose. We reached the summit and signed in the canister at 7pm. Great night. The next morning we headed down the divide down near Porter Brook where we bushwhacked almost due North for 30 minutes until we hit the boundary just before MON450. We snowshoed about 2 hours before we reached the summit at 3855'. Although the boundary line is cleared (about 40' or so) the elevation loss and gain was substantial. Straight up and down in a few spots. The temps. were around 10 with blowing snow. We had gotten 4" by the time we returned to camp.
