2004 AMC
Summer Paddling Schedule
Prepared
by Dave Lanman and Carolyn Welch
Note:
Events may be added and other changes made to this schedule and will be posted
in later issues of Wilderness Matters and on the AMC Maine Chapter Website.
Spring
whitewater trips Class 2 are over. However,
we will be doing some river trips and sea kayaking during the remainder of the
summer.
Please
contact the trip leader by the Thursday before the trip. The leader may limit
the number of participants on a trip for safety. The leader may cancel or modify
a scheduled trip due to water or weather conditions.
NOTE REGARDING CLASS 3 AND HIGHER PADDLING
The Maine AMC paddling schedule this season has not included trips in rapids predominantly Class 3 and higher, although, given changes in flow, some Class 2 rapids can reach higher levels.
If you are interested in whitewater trips with more challenging rapids, including the Dead River, please contact any of our companion clubs at their websites below. They run trips in “big water” on a regular basis.
