Bruce Moulton, AMC Maine Chapter member
Hello AMC Hikers. I, along with my "second best" trail partner, hiked the Ledges Trail on Pleasant Mountain April 4th, to see if the trail was as bad as we had heard. The trail was far worse than you could imagine. From the paved road up to the open ledges, approximately 1 mile, the trail was devastated. The trail, from the cut off from the logging road up to the open ledges, was nonexistent. I marked the trail with orange tape so the trail crew could make better time clearing the trail.
I made a report on the conditions to Sonny Martineau who said he will get a work trip
right onto it. The work trip is scheduled for Saturday, April 18. Call Sonny at 324-5873
if you would like to lend a hand. My scheduled hike up the South West Ridge Trail with
co-leader Erick Hagmann will be changed to a backup crew for Sonny. Please call Sonny
Martineau and come along to help out and have a good time with fellow AMC members.
The following pictures of the trail where taken on April 4. My hiking partner is in the
first two pictures. She loves trail work!

Sorry to take so long to update you on the Report of trail conditions on the ledge trail on Pleasant Mt. Sonny Martineau led a work trip on this trail April 18 and the trail is now open all the way to the fire tower. Sonny led a work party of eight people including myself and every one did a great job. We also owe thanks to the people who went up sometime before us and sawed through many of the blowdowns, Thanks.
