W Achesons of
County
Tyrone, Northern Ireland
A great deal
has been written and recorded over the centuries about the members
of the once influential Acheson family from Edinburgh who settled
in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. Heretofore dwelling in the
shadow of this noteable line, has existed information reguarding
other lines of Acheson descent in Ireland, which have been largely
neglected to date by family genealogists and historians.

Here we'll explore
another line of descent from the distinctive surname of "Acheson"
who were also originally of Scottish descent, settling near Armagh,
in the neighboring County of Tyrone. Though perhaps closely related
to the earliest Armagh Achesons, these Tyrone descended Achesons
are nearer and dearer to my own heart, since it is from their
branch that I am lineally descended. Hence I shall endeavour to
honour my ancestors and kinsmen with this section of the web page
to the best of my ability.
