About the Llama Learning
Center
"The Llama
Learning Center is dedicated to teaching
llama and alpaca handlers how to communicate more effectively with their
charges and to helping llamas and alpacas better understand what their
handlers expect from them."
-Becky
Smith

Becky has
based her llama learning philosophy on the proven method of llama training
pioneered by John Mallon. As an ongoing student of John Mallon, Becky has
witnessed first-hand all manners of llama dispositions and has gained
valuable insight into the llama mindset and how they perceive their
environment.
In
addition to one-on-one llama lessons, Becky has also had the pleasure of
teaching a number of large groups on a range of llama subjects. From
leading Adult Education classes in llama husbandry at local schools to
serving as a featured presenter at a Greater Appalachian Llama and Alpaca
Association conference, Becky is recognized as one of western Maine's
leading llama educators.
Becky
currently owns seven wonderful llamas of her own and, among other things,
enjoys leading them in the local July 4th parade each year.
The
Llama Learning Center
mission is to teach llamas and their handlers to develop a trusting and
rewarding relationship through mutual respect and awareness.
